Topic: Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Wednesdayday, 6/13
We were posting at the same time, LOL.
Consult weight: 319
Goal weight: 175
New goal range: 150-155
Today's weight: 144.6. A new low. Of course.
Yesterday's testing was interesting and useful in a "how the heck am I going to do that?" kind of way. Based on my metabolic testing, they're recommending 2000 to 2300 calories when I'm as active as I am right now, dropping to between 1750 and 2000 in the winter or if my activity level goes down.
Kind of makes sense since I've been eating 1650-1750 and losing about a pound a week.
My body fat percentage per the BodPod was 18.6%, which they classified as the low end of the "Lean" category (18.1% to 22%).

Sorry mom..figured if it hadnt been posted it probably wouldnt till later. I didnt mean to step on your toes! Anyway I think those results are positive. Your metabolism hasnt been hurt by the extreme dieting and you are off and running. That is though a ton of calories. I bet you can get there by eating higher fat content but thats not really a long term solution. Do you have any thoughts on how you are going to accompli****
I have very sturdy toes, not easily dented. Step on them at will! I hope if a day comes when I really don't get this posted someone will jump in just like that and post it.
Just found our perfect timing sort of funny!
Working on the how. Unfortunately, a lot of their recommendations don't fit a bariatric patient, especially given my small capacity. Need to meet with my Bariatric Nut with these results in hand to get some assistance developing a plan.
She says as she spoons full fat fruit on the bottom and granola yogurt down the hatch...

Good results!! I find avocado and some nuts are good and healthy ways to boost healthy fat and calories. I haven't needed the extra calories as much as you do, but it is a good way to boost the intake, without volume. You'll figure it out.
You are also a rather tall person, whi*****reases your need for more calories. I have never had that problem, since I am so vertically challenged (4'11").

Mom4jazz- maybe you can ask over on the exercise forum. I know Macmadame eats a higher calorie amount due to her workouts. A lot of the people over there do marathons and are super fit. Did they recommend scaling back the workouts so you can slow the loss down?

See the thing is, I don't "work out". Ever.
I'm just active. I walk an AVERAGE of 5.5 miles per day. Usually a little less on weekdays but a lot more on weekends, but a lot of it is also mountain hiking which ups the intensity. I usually have one day each weekend where I hike 10-15 miles. Add in some bike riding and other activities and that's where the calories go.

Hey Mom--what an incredible metabolism you have. You are just a lean, mean, burning machine! After all that weight loss and yet your metabolism is on fire! Good for you. You will find the calories some way (can you believe we are talking like this?). Beans and rice and potatoes I guess. Jeesh! Well, I hit goal today--125.2. 2 weeks short of 18 months. Pretty happy today. Now just trying to figure if I want to get off another 3 pounds for my "regain cushion." Again, what an incredible conversation. Feeling fantastic! Happy day to the rest of you too. I know, I should post photos, but am kinda gun shy after all that brouhaha a couple of months ago.
