I am back and I survived! It was quite an experience. I met my trainer who I know from my children's school, in a garage like setting in a raw, downtown type of place. This was not a shee-shee gym for the upper crust, but a low-down and sweaty place for the ultimate athlete. We had the place to ourselves for the hour which was fantastic since the other clients would have found my workout quite amusing to watch. She is an owner of a high end gym for children in a very exclusive area but she prefers to do her own workouts at this hole in a wall place because she told me, "they keep it real and hardcore". She was planning on taking the class that was being taught there after we were done. She showed me the things they do, and I was amazed and a little awe struck. She told me that she will have me join her there in about a year, yeah right. Of course, that was my reaction to Dr. Cirangle when he first told me that I would be 110 lbs. too. So, who knows. She had me warm up on the elliptical for about 10 min. and then had me alternate between upper body weights, bike, and lunges and squats. She also had me do reverse push-ups off a chair. After I finished, she told me that I was in better shape than I thought and that she wants me to do 40 min. of aerobic exercise on any day when I do not see her. She gave me some protein drink with tons of protein and low carbs and calories and told me to go buy some new shoes and bras. I am sore all over, but I did it! The new journey begins.

good for you - I am feeling inspired reading this.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Why do I picture you in designer exercise attire combined with a pair of matching beautiful high heels, sashaying into the gym, everyone staring at the Goddess that just walked in?????

The other picture I have is you all timid and feeling out of place, hiding behind gym equipment nervously looking around for your trainer????

OK...don't mind me, I'm on 5 different meds for allergies including a large dose of prednisone....I just ain't right, right now....

All joking aside;  I'm so happy for you, I will bet you become very addicted to exercise and absolutely love it.

Imagine a garage in a seedier part of town open to a main street.  Now imagine said garage full of torture devices, ropes and strange implements hanging off the walls and ceiling.  Now imagine little old me sashaying in there all by myself in ten year old sneakers, biker shorts and a pale green workout bra/top. It was just me and my trainer there for the whole hour, but when I finished, all the hard bodies started walking in.  These are not your soccer mom types, these are hard core, urban looking tough people.  And then there is little old me, saying, "excuse me, I'm just going to get some water here".  I fit in about as well as a kitten in a lion's den.  Maybe we are all the same species, but that is where the similarities come to a halt.  :)   The guys looked like they just stepped off of the firefighter calendar, not that I was looking ( I would never do such a thing.  :)  ).   The ladies looked like they could break me in two with two fingers.  But luckily they seemed friendly.  My trainer noticed me looking at one of the guys and she said, "You know you can go touch his muscles".  Yeah right, I would do that.  :)  All in all, I had a great time.  It was totally out of my comfort zone, and I like doing crazy unexpected things.  Oh yeah, there was graffiti all over the gym, and it was really funny stuff.

It sounds like a Cross-Fit gym. I went to one in my town a couple of months ago, to check it out, and it looked liked the room that you just described. Crossfit is hard core and uses the hanging ropes and other "implements" that you described. Firefighters, police officers, etc utilize this type of training. The class that I observed, had people lifting greater than 50 lb concrete balls, as well as 25 lb medicine balls.

Good for you!!!

Please.....tell me more about the eye candy you witnessed?????

So, you fell into category two of my imagination????

Really, that gym sounds great, and hardcore!!!  I think you will look like those hard bodies in no time at all!!!
You will have a smokin' hot body in 3 months, and will be posting pictures of your guns!!!

I hired a trainer for 12 weeks in Jan.
It was the best thing I ever did.

I learned how to use the gym and how to work out.

I like to run, he showed me how to do it efficiently.
I did this during the weight loss phase and the weight loss slowed, but my body shape changed a lot.
I think now that even though the scale isn't moving...while I'm running and lifting weights a couple times a week, my body is defining itself.
I haven't got any smaller but definately more defined.
And
I like it

good luck,
enjoy
