How I got that regain off with PIcs!

Hey guys, I am going to cross post this on the main board, but I am testing out my picture inserting abilities here first.

Just in case you missed my many posts, I had a 29lb regain between years 2 and 3. Why? because I was eating cookies and washing them down with diet coke. All the things you shouldn't do. I was also diagnosed with severe anemia Ferritin was a 3, along with low thyroid. I would love to blame the weight gain on the thyroid, but let's be real...I had stopped tracking my food, stopped drinking protein shakes because I didn't think they were "worth the money" and just basically trying to live as a "normie' when the truth is I am still an emotional, compulsive eater.

I decided last October when I tipped the scales at 170...ouch, that I better get serious about my tool. I started by buying the protein powder and cutting out the M&Ms (they go down so easy, I was eating 2-3 packs a day), eating dense proteins and tracking.

Then I decided that where I lived was not healthy for me and that I had no healthy friends with healthy habits and that I would need to change my environment. So in January, we moved to a new town that is famous for its healthy population. NOT ONE SINGE OBESE PERSON in the whole town, and I am not kidding. I wanted some of what they were having!

So for the last 6 months I have been working out, eating clean most of the time, doing yoga and working on my head. I am happy to announce that I have made it back to my original goal of 145!

I want to give anyone hope that is fighting a regain, that you can lose it, but it will be ALOT of hard work, no honeymoon, kinda like a marriage.

So here goes, this is me, should've slapped on some makeup, but I am sure you are looking at my arms anyway...hahahaha

This is the first time I hit goal!

This is during my regain, about 160

AND HERE I AM THIS WEEK..WOO HOO!!!!

You must be walking on cloud 9--it is agony to have to lose what you had already lost in the past. What a great day for you. Just shows you if we are really smart we will all do our durndest to not regain. You have shown the tool does work and you are braver and smarter than those M & M's.

You look amazing! It's nice to read posts where you see that it is possible to get back on track when you get off for awhile. You look so happy too!

 Anne,

I wasn't just off track, I was in the ditch! But I got back on the road and I am liking it!

Wow! Wow! Wow!!  I want me some of that (your tan)!  No, seriously, this couldn't have come at a better time.  I have gained a couple pounds and I am freaking out.  I've gotten 2 1/2 pounds off and still have 3 more pounds to go to get back to where I was.  I know it doesn't seem like a lot but I know how easy 2 pounds can turn into 20 pounds.

You look amazing and I would really love to live somewhere where health and activity were a priority.  I am just so tired of the drearies and the rain.  Are you living in Costa Rica?  Are you originally from the states?

I am from Virginia, but have been living in Costa Rica for about 8 years. I moved to a town called "Santa Teresa", you can google it, its quite popular with surfers/yogis/raw and organic food enthusiasts. I know the move definitely helped me change my routine, but it was true that my friendships before were very stagnant and revolved around who's cooking what and where the next wine drinking binge was happening, so I just decided it was best for me to step away from that.

You can get that 3 lbs off, but you are going to have to work hard for it. My dream weight is 140, and I know it is attainable, but not maintable for me at least right now.

Heather
