This is exactly why I directed him to that book.  It educates about what you just wrote, thus, you are able to stand up for yourself in the doctor's office and ask for additional tests.  Most docs just want to test TSH, and give synthroid when the picture is oh so much larger, just like you stated.  Thanks for writing it out for him.

And, as a result of getting educated and no longer letting the dogmatic doctors tell him he's still tired because he's not taking his synthroid at the right time of day, he was able to get more testing and now takes both synthroid and cytomel.  His energy level is much better on the combo.  Had he not stuck up for himself he would have never gotten past the TSH test.

I know 4 people total who's endo docs told them they were not taking the synthroid correctly and refused to test past TSH.

My husband brought that book to the appt. with him and bullied the doctor right bac****il he got his way and got those additional tests, followed by addition meds.

Wow, thanks to all of you on this site, I have a number of questions for my doctor when I see her.  I did not get numbers, she told me that the last time I had bloods my t4 was a little low.  This changed when I saw her about a month ago, I went in as a walk in after I had labs the week before and she told me that my t4 was lower than the previous time .  She started me on the meds right away and wants me to see her next week.  I will ask her about my numbers etc.

Thanks again,

Santos
