Hernia Anyone?
So, I think I might have a hernia at one of my incision sites, and I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience....
A few months ago, (about three months after my son was born) I had a sudden sharp pain in my abdomen (just under the right side of my ribs) after lifting my todder into her bed one afternoon. It felt better upon standing and after laying down to really stretch out, the pain pretty much stopped. I think I might have been sore for about a day, but just the pain like I had done some serious cruches. At the time I thought maybe it was just a muscle spasm and quickly forgot about it. Yesterday I was pulling some particularly stubborn weeds from the cracks in our driveway and I suddenly felt like I had been stabbed in the abdomen. Same spot as before. I again layed down and stretched the muscles which seemed to make the pain go away. Today I am sore again, and I'm thinking it might be a hernia. I noticed it is right in the area of one of my incisions from my sleeve surgery. I got pregnant just 6 months after surgery, so I know my poor abs have been through a lot. I'm planning on just "waiting it out" for the weekend, and I'll try calling my doc on Monday to see what he thinks.
Anyone have a something like this happen with their incisions? I'm hoping that whatever it is can wait a few more babies before it needs to be surgically fixed! I can tell my abs are getting weaker with each pregnancy and I'm hoping that this will one day translate to a tummy tuck paid for by my insurance company!

Do you still have your gall bladder? I had similar pains before I had my gall bladder removed. It felt like a muscle spasm right below my right breast/rib area....went away so quickly that I wondered if I really felt it.
Eventually the pains got worse and lasted longer and I had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with gall stones.

I have had similar symptoms, though it is not really painful, just uncomfortable until the hernia reduces by itself. It has happened maybe 8 times and quickly goes away. I get the definite bulge of something poking through the tiny incision site. I have seen a surgeon and since I can not make it appear on command there is nothing that can be done .... for now.
If it happens and will not reduce on its own or I can make it occur in the surgeons office, then they will likely do surgery. Which would be done laparoscopically and consist of simply adding a few stitches at the incision site.
