Good Morning everyone! Glad to see everyone up and bushy-tailed this morning. I weigh 127.6. I hit the skids yesterday as I had slowly put on about 2 pounds. Not from bad food, just from eating too much good food. So went back to 650 calories and lost 1.4 pounds yesterday. Going to stay on this plan until I get the final few pounds off. My problem time is 2 hours after dinner (for various reasons, we eat at around 4 pm) and then the rest of the night. If I can learn control strategies for this time of day and not graze/snack/reach for the nuts and choco squares, then I might have a fighting chance of keeping the weight off. At least I now know my problem time and I am going to figure out a way to not let it get the better of me. BMI this morning=19.7. Just another glorious day for all of us to feel grateful for!

What time do you go to bed?  4:00 seems so early for dinner and I can see how that many hours without food might be difficult.  I am going to throw out some ideas for you, use what might work, disregard the rest.

1) Save some calories for an evening snack.
2) Brush your teeth after you are done eating for the day and stick with the resolve no matter what you feel, even if you are hungry.
3) Drink tea flavored with vanilla soy milk and splenda, I like chai tea.  Make it feel like a treat.
4) Eat veggies in the evening, I like to steam artichokes and eat them slowly dipped into homemade dip from Greek yogurt, lite sour cream, lemon juice, garlic, salt and dill.  I steam a bunch of them at a time and keep them in the refrigerator for a few days. But you can cut up any veggies and make it work.
5) Do something active in the evenings.  No TV or reading a book, something that fully engages you.  I like to clean closets or the garage.  Have an activity.
6) If you feel desperate, come and post about it; we've got your back.

I hope at least one of these will be helpful. I am sure you already know all of them, but a reminder might be good.

Thanx Elina for your thoughtful post.  We just got into a habit of eating that early, mostly because I go to Zumba several nights of the week at 6 pm and I have to have a relatively empty stomach for the hour I do Zumba.  I think all your ideas are great, will mull them over, and see what I can incorporate.  I am especially intrigued by the tooth brushing one.  Funny, at the store today, I saw a whole display of Chai Tea and wondered to myself what that tasted like.  You are right, maybe it is time to incorporate a new "treat" that is still good for me.  I also like to dip things in my special homemade Tzaziki sauce I make.  I think I will start saving some calories and do a little vegie dipping at night too.  Thanx for letting me talk about various strategies--that helps to get it from brain to action.

After I do my final 'feeding' for the night, I push fluids. That keeps me in "I can't eat I'm drinking" mode and it keeps my sleeve busy.  I get a lot of phone calls late in the evening from the west coast, and pre-op I had a bad tendency to nosh while gabbing with my friends.  I started drinking, instead, pre-op, and that broke the mindless nibbling.
