Diane, wouldn't that be a kick to think that we taught him a few things about this process.  I talk quite a bit at the support group meetings, maybe I should consider him as part of my audience.  I often speak about my mindful moderation and learning personalized strategies for eating, maybe he is listening.  After all, nothing sounds truer than success.

well it is true that over the past few years he has changed his views on some things. and i think its because of what he has observed in his patients- especially the more successful ones.  like you. diane

You have it figured out!!!  I'm at the same place, I know occasionally I can have a bite or two and that's enough - I'm lucky I just don't want more than to just taste - but I'm also blessed that if I don't have the bite I'm okay too, I don't feel slighted.  It's definitely a mind thing!

It's great to have fun with family and friends!

It's a great place to be.  I am glad we have found this elusive "moderation" place.  :)

Thank you!  My friends tried to get me to eat some ice cream too, but I was too full by then.  They think I am a bit too strict with my diet, but they never had weight issues before so they don't quite get it.  You guys are my real partners in crime here.

I think this would put a smile on Dr.C's face.......

In group he has to be slanted to the side of safe for the benefit of the people in the early stages.....

I would think, and the vibe I get from him is this would be what ultimate success is to his philosophy....

He refines his surgery to give us the best chances, provides the guidance and education to give us the foundation needed to maintain and re-enter a higher quality of life that includes new normalcy's within our boundaries.

I'm still tellin on you !

You don't think he would chew me out for setting a bad example?  My husband told me that all of my authority on diet went out the window now, and I am going to have to eat humble pie instead of rum balls.   It's OK, I am almost a week out from this incident and I am still way below goal, so all is good.

Totally NOT!

It's a great example........

People can get the wrong idea here.... and I guess we don't help........

Many people "Jump off the Bus" to early and start eat off plan way before they reach goal.......

The lesson should be:

- Lose the weight first.... get to goal.....

- Stabilize and hold the weight for a year learning your tolerances.......

- After a year or so.....take what you have learned about yourself....triggers/tollerances and such. Feel what it's like to put on a few pounds...... learn what it takes to bring it down......
And that's how your going to have to live....... whi*****ludes a re-entry into private and social eating and activities !!!!

The message and ultimate goal is a pretty good !!!! An in control balance that we never had before !!!!
