After eating a dreyer's fruit bar last night--actually not too many carbs, but just triggered a guilt attack--have to get the wretched things out of the freezer!

129.8

2 of the 4 pounds I bounced up last week gone this week.  Carb cycling seems to be helping with the water retention I've had along with finishing my budget.  I'm able to get up an about more rather than being chained to my desk.   My feet and ankles are far  less swollen.

I've scheduled some metabolic testing in early June to try to determine how many calories I need to be eating. Also doing a Bodpod while I'm there.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Good luck, Jazz. With all your activity, it seems that you need to be eating more calories. The metabolic testing sounds like a good idea. Do you think that your present activity level is sustainable?

Not during the winter, so I need to watch that, but I will still likely be somewhat active then.

I was actually referred for this to help me stabilize my weight. It includes a consult, not just measurements. This is a teaching and research center so I have hopes we can come up with a baseline plan plus exercise allowance kind of thing. We'll see.

Between now and then I've just decided to let it go. I only lost 4.5 lbs last month so how much harm can two more weeks do?

Good for you, MomForJazzz, for honing in on why you are losing at such a rate.  You are lucky you can have that fat/muscle test done.  It may actually just be your body finding its ideal weight--but when you eat 1,800 calories a day and still lose--wow!  The only thing I know that does that in a pathological way, is too much thyroid hormone.  Keep us posted!  And much good luck to you!

Good luck Jazz, we worry ourselves sick about to much weight. I dont think any of us are prepared with losing to much. I worried for a few weeks while upping my diet to make the weight loss stop myself. Crazy ups and downs ...
