My husband had back surgery yesterday.
Hello all my husband who has not walked right for over 10 years had surgery on his spine yesterday they cut some of it away removed cysts and bone spurs. They needed to stretch his nerves back out from being pinched and cut off for so long. Than today this happened. At the hospital now they took my husband for his first walk. We both were standing in the hall way crying because he is able to walk again. He has not walked a lone with out his knees buckling for over 10 years now. We made the staff cry lol god has touched my husband we are so happy.
We cry every time he takes a walk with me we hold hands and just walk cry and hug feels so so good. The staff tells us we are just beaming. I am so blessed he wants to walk with me now and even go to the gym. The problem has caused us to push each other away for years now. He was always in pain and yelling. After my weight loss surgery he got mad because I feel amazing but just a little while ago he told me you go to school get your degree do your soft ball games I now know how you can feel amazing because he feels amazing now. He wants to grow old with me now before he just wanted a divorce because he felt that I did not need him in a chair. I always told him I loved him did not care if he was in a chair but he always felt so bad. I know it will take time for the whole family to recover from all of the years of yelling and watching their dad be is so much pain. My children always told me they know why he yells and is hate full but it still hurt us. He said he needs to come home and tell his sons sorry and he really does love them. Sorry so long. My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I'm so happy for you!!! I've been in your shoes, my husband has had 4 back surgeries and the first 3 only made things worse for him and us!! God does work miracles, may he continue to bless you all! It is hard on the kids and I'm sorrys are only the beginning, it takes a lot of work to heal the scars, I will pray for you all!!!

aw thank you all for such kind words. He is home doing very well now. We got home at 12 noon and at 5 pm he laid down. He said he has not walked in so long he did not want to go to sleep. My kids are amazed at how happy he is. They have been talking with him all day. He seems so happy I hope this just will stay this way.
