Doggy paddle works!!!   I am lucky to have WLS friends that I hike with. We spend time talking and helpin each other stay on track.  I pray to keep walking that line that keeps me in my 3 pound range.

how do you feel? how do your clothes fit?

I think you should accept yourself today no matter what - because we ALL should, every day.  I mean it!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Your so right, I should get to a mental place of satisfaction, but after the regain fiasco, I am afraid to get complacent, almost like i am punishing myself.....hmmmm not good!

I think fiasco is a might strong...

if you were talking to a friend you loved and respected and they had regained 29 pounds...

what would you say to them?

I definitely would not tell her the things i tell myself! Point taken! I would probably tell her that it is a journey and not a destination. Thanks.

I think you need to have a Dexa scan, Bod Pod, or hydrostatic weighing done. The scales are not very accurate and have some error to the readings. The results vary on your water content, etc. However, what they are good for, is for picking up trends, either up or down. 15.8 % body fat is really, really good. I would want it validated by another more specific test. Congratulations on keeping your lean muscle mass. You have been working very hard and the results are showing. All those protein shakes have helped to conserve your lean muscle mass. Even with an error of +/- of 5 %, your results are wonderful!!

 Gail,

I should buy stock in Nectar products, since i go through a tub every 10-12 days! I am refusing to believe that scale was accurate, and i am definitely going to have a dexa scan next week. But like you said even with a huge error margin, it is much better than i could have imagined.

Based on how much you are working out and the variety of the workouts and your diet, it is very possible that your body fat is 15.8 %. My trainer is in her 50's, 5'4" and weighs 140-145, depending upon how much she indulges on the weekends and/or holidays. LOL! She does a lot of weight training and her last body fat reading by hydrostatic weighing was 17.5%. She has a lot of muscle on her, so  with your weight and height, you could very well be 15.8 %.

Don't wig out ( I know easier said than done). What matters is how you feel in your clothes and how you feel when you move.  If you feel good and your clothes aren't tight, the number on the scale is irrelevant and so is its approximated fat number. So tell that little devil to shut up. Its you who gets to decide whether you are at the right weight.

I am also 5'4"  but I wear a size 9 shoe and have big hands. I have friends taller than me who wear smaller shoes. Some of us just have a heavier frame and bones than others.

But by all means get a proper body fat test. I did once where you get weighed under water and it was like 30% but my doctor says thats fine for my age. Lots of places have that bod pod thing that can do it. you can find locations on the internet.

And I bet you run around and do so much on your trip that you lose weight.
