Gimme hints for my LBL plastic surgery!
Ok you are probably sick of my suggestions but i just remembered something thats important.
Have your partner keep a notebook and have him write down every time you take meds. I did this for my brother after he had a major surgery and he had a pile of different pain meds and other meds and some were every four hours and some twice a day and such. It was really important for me, the non drugged person, to keep all this straight as he was pretty doped and I wouldn't have been able to keep it straight either without writing each dose down and the time. Sometimes he would ask for a med but had just taken it an hour earlier and had to wait. And have him ask what they are giving you at the hospital. never hurts to know whats being given.

Hey Ruggie, I just wanted to wish you great success on your LBL. I'm getting a TT the beginning of the year, I should have this 20 pounds off by then. The only plastics I've had were a Breast reduction/lift 3 months ago. However, my cousin had an LBL, then tried to keep dieting while healing. She wasn't eating enough protein, or getting her fluids in. She landed herself in the hosp with many complications, including not healing So, that said, make sure you eat well, get tons extra protein, drink plenty, and rest rest rest. I say this, even though I know you will do things right, unlike my cousin, who is playing catch-up now.

LOL....I guess your surgeon has seen a few patients like my cousin before!
150 g of protein does sound right. That is what I shot for after my breast reduction. I also stayed hydrated and rested plenty. I healed very well as a result of good nutrition, water, rest and the wonderful support of my husband and children.
I'm so glad your partner is on board with this and will be there to nurse you back to health. Support is crucial to healing.
P.S. Don't use a bell to get his attention, it tends to irritate the people you love. When I needed something I texted them from the bedroom....LOL

I've read that upping your protein intake before surgery is very helpful in the healing process. Also heard that eating pineapple or drinking pineapple juice before surgery also helps with the swelling and healing as well...something to do wih the enzymes in pineapples.
