Sudden spasms?
Please forgive me if this has been asked a thousand times. I am a year and four months post op, no complications, lost 106 lbs, healthy and happy. The only medications I take now are Axid to reduce acid and Claritin for allergies. Late last week I developed a symptom that is scaring me. I've been able to eat 5-6 ounces for quite some time and that seems to be a perfectly comfortable amount. The past few days, though, after I eat about 3-4 ounces I start getting a pain between my stomach and esophagus and then it feels like a spasm or contraction. After a few seconds (about 5-10), it passes and most of the time I feel fine again. My sleeve is not full, though. I'm not sure what's going on. I had hiatal hernia repair with my sleeve. I'm wondering if my symptoms might be related to that or maybe reflux. I'm going to call my surgeon if it's still happening in a few days. I know he's going to want an endoscopy and I can't take off work for that. Any ideas what it might be?

I always recommend checking in with your wls clinic, but I have had this happen to me, when I have an unrelated illness such as the sinus infection that I have now. I have vomitted one meal yesterday and one today :( My sleeve seems to really shrink. Looking forward to hearing other answers and hoping this is resolved quickly for you.
Thanks ladies! I will be calling my surgeon for sure, I'm just wanting to wait until next week when it will be easier to take off work. My surgeon always brings someone in for an endoscopy when he suspects a problem. I will say that I took a pepcid this morning and have not had as much of an issue. It's still there but not near as bad.
