Hi Marie!  I think the hungry was from the acid.  I'm fine today after 2 doses of the Protonix and some Mylanta or whatever it is in the drawer.   I only got that burning reflux for 2 nights post VSG when I didn't have pillows up high enough and the Protonix hadn't kicked in yet.  I'm sorry you go through that because it really sux!!

I hope you're having a fun mother's day!

I'm with lizzy. chew a tums for quick relief.  and its funny sometimes hunger can show up an hour or two after we eat because our stomachs empty faster than other people. i usually find that iced tea or a few grapes takes care of this. but then its not acid. those of us a few years out forget that our sleeves can still play tricks on us and we can get the foamies or have eating discomfort sneak up on what seems like a proper quantity.

i would check with doctor if acid stuff continues  diane

Diane, you are so right!  We will forever have our tricky sleeves.  Never know what they'll be getting up to next.  I'm feeling much better this afternoon.  I think it was the acid because generally a small snack will take care of it if it's my sleeve emptying quickly.  This wasn't going away regardless of what I ate.  Whatever it was, I'm so happy it's over!

Lee, I have been on two Nexium daily almost from the beginning.  I went off for a couple of months and needed to take them again.  I have lots indigestion and hunger unfortunately.

Awww Sandy, I'm sorry you go through the hunger too.  I'm so jealous of those that lost their hunger.  Mine came back so soon post op.  I'm glad the Nexium helps you!!

It usually helps, but not today, but that's unusual.  Yes I'm very envious of those who have lost their hunger.  I am generally hungry an hour and a half after I eat, so its aboout making better choices.

I sure hope you can contain yours!

AAAWWW....so sorry you had acid trouble Lee.  I use Zantac myself.  I use to use Nexium, but didn't realize that it didn't completely wor****il after I started on Zantac.  I knew what true acid relief was then.  Also, Zantac doesn't cause osteoporosis like the PPI's do.

I ever had acid reflex prior to surgery but now take meds every day. Mine has been bad enough lately that I may start 2xa day.
