Curious how much
Thanks Dee seems like we had surgery close to the same time good to know... I know many choose not to eat bread but I am just one of those who has decided that I can't live saying you can never have that just makes me want it more therefore I eat everything unless it makes me sick which I have only found a couple things that I can't eat they are rice, steak, and dry pork chops so I choose not to eat them but even those I try a bite every now and then just to test the waters and everytime so far no good I eat everything just not a lot seems to be working for me yesterday was mothers day so here is an example of what I ate breakfast half cup of coffee and half a pancake with butter and powder sugar I don't like syrup , lunch 1/4 of a cheeseburger and two zucchini fries dipped in ranch then for dinner two mushroom ravioli and tiny bit of cauliflower. Desert 10 chocolate covered almonds and three pieces of sal****er taffy now mind you it was mothers day not the healthiest of choices but not a lot of any of them pre surgery I would have eaten 4 pancakes lunch I would have eaten the whole cheeseburger all the zucchini fries I would have had the filet minon steak the rest of the family ate and the potatoes with all the FIXEN the bread and the veggies and desert so I try to keep all that in mind and just don't freak out on myself as long as I'm maintaining best wishes to you and thanks for the response
Hi Maureen, you and I are close in surgery date and I can eat about half a 6". For me, bread lets me eat more. When I am eating chicken, fish or beef patty, I can do 2.5 to 3 oz max with nothing else. I am maintaining easily at this time, but like you, always aware of what I'm doing with the food. I eat whatever I want and no foods are off limits, but I'm super careful with how much and how often I indulge.

Hi Maureen,
I'll be 4 years out next month, and I can have 1/2 of a 6" sub. I used to have 1/3 of a 6" before. I rarely eat bread, but do every now and then(6 -8 a year). I can eat 1/2 of a homemade burger too. I still worry about weight gain or increased capacity. I know I can eat more now than before, but I guess it's still within the parameters to keep me from gaining, as long as I don't overindulge in junk. I guess it's a good thing we worry because it helps keep us on track. I have a friend who had the VSG over 6 years ago and she has never watched what she ate. Now she has gained close to 40 pounds, started the HCG diet and has lost 20. She was telling me how sorry she was not to have done as I did from the beginning- watch what and how much I eat, exercise, don't drink with meals, etc. Oh well, we are all a work in progress!
