Throwing in the Towel

Well I've tried everthing to save my poor old knee, including getting 85% of my stomach removed.  I'm resigned now that I must throw in the towel.  I've scheduled the Total Knee Replacement for Sept.10.  So the VSG at least got me 2 more years out of the old girl.

It may be a rough recovery, but in the end, you will be so glad that you did this. People that I know, that have had knee replacements are happy that they had this done. After it is done, you may wonder, why you waited so long ( well, actually I do know why).

Good Luck to you!!

Thanks for the encouragement.  I've heard that a lot.  My view is tainted.  I work in Nuclear Medicine and see a lot of knees that have gotten infected.  Bad, bad thing.  But I know, statistically, the odds are about 1%.  So I should just bite the bullit and get it over with!

Good luck on your surgery.  I know that's a tough one to recover from (saw Mom do it) but you will feel sooooo much better after you heal up.  Kudos for getting the extra two years out of the old girl.  Let us know how you fare...(((Hugs)))

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!

My brother had both knees replaced and went on to climbing mountains with those two bad boys.

Congrats on scheduling your surgery.  I'll bet that it will go very well and you will be pleased with your results!!!!

Good luck!  My doctor is hoping mine will last me another 10 years before replacement.  I can't see how that can be, but I hope he's right!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
