Hey, I've been out of town and in the wilderness without internet or even cell phone access for most of the week. I hope I didn't miss anything too cool!

Not really... I had a great time but I drank too many Cosmos at our potluck dessert party on Sat. night and broke my brand new camping lantern while making a speech. (I was waving my arms around as I tend to do when I talk.) I guess it was funny but it was BRAND NEW!

But I love my triathlon club and enjoyed being at the "Woodstock of Triathlons" cheering everyone on.

It's no big deal. I brought fruit, nuts, hard-boiled eggs, cheese sticks, and protein bars for snacks. For breakfast, we had bacon & eggs and oatmeal. For lunch one day we had burritos & I didn't have the tortilla as usual. For dinner I cooked curried shrimp one night and a chicken dish another.

I'm going camping again in two weeks and we're just doing a BBQ for Sat. dinner. With 40 people, it's the easiest to organize.

As long as you aren't back-packing, you can bring anything you normally eat in your cooler and cook anything that you can cook in a sauce pan or frying pan. One year I made a beef teriyaki stir fry, for example. Sometimes I make tuna or chicken salad for lunch or heat up some beef stew or chili for dinner.

I usually bring protein powder as well but I rarely drink it. :)
