I guess I'm anemic now. Thoughts? Guidance?

Ah ha ... didn't even occur to me to just simply retest - in a sense, this is already in progress - these were the values that Cirangle got, and my PS should receive the result of another blood test I donated last week either today or tomorrow.

Thanks to you (and others) mentioning carbonyl iron - I will pick that up.

I take Hemax, it's a prescription iron with Vitamin C & B12 and a stool softener.  I take it away from my other supplements but not immediately before bed. It says specifically not to lay down for 1/2 hour after taking.

Your iron levels look kind of odd.  You have tons of ferritin (stored iron) but your hemocrit and iron binding  are both borderline low.  My doctor says your ferritin should drop before everything else as you use up stored iron to keep your blood levels up.  Maybe you have a bad tests, dunno.

Thanks for the info Krazy -

So actually both you and Mac Madame pointed out that my results may be off -

I got the CBC results from my plastic surgeon this afternoon (the first set was from bariatric surgeon):

RBC was 4.44, Hemoglobin was 13.7, and hematocrit was 41.0!   So I think you two might be right and that the test was just poorly run or something!  Those are all now within values.

The PS is out of town until Wednesday - we'll have to see if he wants a retest.  But these two different blood tests were only about a week apart.
