What would you do?

I figured the horseback riding would be out, and that's okay.  Last year I went to a place where I wanted to go horseback riding and the weight limit was 250.  I was so afraid that I might weigh that with jeans and boots on, I didn't even try.

Next year, I'm on that pony!

I think you probably got enough of us telling you to do it now, but I would like to add my voice to the choir.  Do it NOW!  I had surgery and two days later I went to the county fair with my family for the whole day.  The day after that, I walked three miles.  Not everybody does this well, but it seems common to get up and go pretty much right after surgery or within a week to two weeks.

I needed to read your success story today, since I've also read a few from people who experienced a lot of pain.  Glad to know it can go either way!  Thank you!

Do it now!! I had some trouble with eating again, and became lactose intolerant following surgery, but by 8 weeks out, I was back to work doing strenuous 12 hour shifts as a nurse, and eating soft foods, without significant problems. My doctor told me I was free of any activity restrictions after 4 weeks.
A recurrent theme I hear on this site is, "I only wish I had done this sooner"
so.... the sooner the better.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

Do it now! I was 59 when I got my sleeve and by eight weeks was feeling good, tired easily though. I'd pack your protein powder so you keep up with your protein in case you have any trouble eating enough (silly thought I know!) mushies or whatever stage you are at during your vacation.

Great advice.  We're staying in a rental with a pool and kitchen, so worst case scenario, I can veg and relax and enjoy myself, and have whatever I need to eat.

Do it now, but be sure to pack plent of protein powder.  At 8 weeks out, you won't be able to get the necessary protein from just food, and without the protein, you may tire more easily and I found that I lost weight better when I was getting in plenty of protein.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
