Energy is what it's all about. I'm sick of being exhausted all the time. So if I don't have all my energy yet, it won't be that different from where I am now. But if I'm carrying less weight that WILL help. Thanks!

i vote for doing it now.  as long as you are not planning on doing super strenous stuff on the vacation you will be fine. just be prepared to not make eating a big part of your vacation. you should be on soft foods by then and can get an egg, soup or cottage cheese in a restaurant. at 6 weeks you should be all healed up and only some residual tiredness will remain. trust your surgeon. diane

The only thing I was planning to do that I might not be able to do now is horseback riding, but that can wait!

Go for it. I had no problems or pain and I am 65 yrs old. Don't go horsback riding - it takes 6 mos for your tummy to totally heal. afterall the doctor just cut off 85% of your tummy and the other 15% is saying WTF. Good luck and have a great vacation thinner.
