What would you do?

I hope you don't mind that I'm asking this question here, although I'm pre-surgery.  I need to make a choice between having my surgery in two weeks or in July.  I'm ready for this and want to have it NOW.

We have a vacation scheduled for June 17 where I will be gone for a week and hopefully getting in a little beach time.  I'm impatient and don't want to put my surgery off, but that's cutting it kind of close.  My surgeon says he'll have me ready for the trip and has no doubts about it.

Would you schedule your VSG for 8 weeks before a trip?  Or wait?

Hands down, do it NOW. I was pretty much back to normal after a few days. A week out I was like feeling totally normal except having to make horrible food choices with mushies and such.

By 4 weeks out I was eating normal foods, just tiny portions, and was back to exercising. Go for it now. You will be so happy you didn't wait, I am absolutely SURE about it!

Plus you will be down a good amount of weight and enjoy your trip that much more!

Surgery Wednesday, home Thursday.  By Sunday I was drinking 64 oz and walking on the treadmill. Tuesday back to work.

Why wait?  Anything can happen between now and July.  Getting your Sleeve is probably the most important of all those things.  Go for it.  I mean really, what could be more important!

Do it now. I had complications and the first 7-8 weeks were difficult for me, but by the 7-8th week, I was on the mend. Energy was low, but by then I could have spent a week at the beach sipping fluids and eating 1 ounce of food.

That's particularly helpful, since you had problems and still would do it. Thank you.
