Well, i still track all my food like i did while losing and probably will for a long time. I get 1100 to 1200 calories, 70 g protein and carbs are about 60 - mostly from fruit and veggies and dairy. i don't eat bread or potatoes or pasta and that stuff. the protein is at my doctor's insistance. the rest just falls into place.

yeah we are almost neighbors. a good place to get crab right now.

I was having that exact feeling yesterday!

I have found my maintenance range, which is about 1250 net calories. The trick for me has been the dreaded exercise calories - I wasn't eating those so even though I was eating 1400 calories I was netting below 1000 4-5 days a week.

But eating 1250 net is HARD for me as I'm eating 6 times a day. Seems like I'm always eating, which is a rough thing psychologically. I  have kept protein shakes and find adding 2% milk and some fruit or peanut butter to them is a good way for me to bump the calories on a work-out day.

The one thing that has helped me, strangely, is daily planning and tracking. When I plan and track my eating, I'm controlling it. It's totally different from my random snacking, eating whatever I want days in the past because I know I'm not getting out of control on the calories. Make sense?

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Yeah, I definitely understand what you mean about it being hard to eat so much through the day!

I'll try out planning and tracking - hopefully that will help me feel more certain that I'm eating more - but not overeating.  Definitely makes sense - I just need to do this.

I am following conversations like this with intense curiosity, and wondering if this will be my issue too..
I have no advice, as I'm not quite there yet.. but I get the feeling of "when was I ever supposed to eat more?!" I have a slight fear of walking that line myself.. eating more, but not opening the gates too wide.
