Had my annual physical today. My pcp is great but he thinks i am a little too thin!!!  Who would have ever thought any doctor would say that. And I get weighed with my clunky shoes and heavy clothing on. Lol i weigh less than he thinks..

And when he looke at my cholesterol numbers, he said "couldn't be better".  Doctors have ragged on me for 20 years about that as it used to be high. Now its perfect.  Thank you sleeve!!!!! diane

It is pretty funny when you have to put rocks in your pockets to get weighed at your PCP's office! Hmmm, you think they would connect your terrific cholesterol numbers with your lower weight. I think they just think we are going to get blown over by the next northerly wind that comes along. Good job with the important stuff--the healthy lab numbers. It all translates into healthy arteries, nice bouncy, plaque-free arteries. That is what I am aiming for now. It is the true pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

yep. though i do think this doctor is smart enough to know that the weight loss did a lot to lower the cholesterol. i do take fish oil and red yeast rice which helps. so maybe he thinks i need to eat 10 lbs of spinach a day to gain a little weight! he really isn't too concerned and thinks its better than being so fat,.  me too. just thought it was funny as no doctor has ever told me i was too thin from the time of my birth. they said "welcome to the world and by the way you are fat".  just hope my arteries can clear out all the prior years of gunk.    hope you get your pot of gold.  diane

If your HDL is high, then your arteries are probably pretty well cleaned out.

Had to chuckle at the "welcome to the world" comment.  I am finding it hard to wrap my head around a normal BMI, don't know WHAT I'd think if my doc said I was too thin.  Congrats on the great cholesterol...& here's to a long and healthy and active life.

I hear you Diane.  I see about 4 different Docs for various things and everyone of them asks me if I'm eating enough.  The only one that likes my weight is my bariatric surgeon, lol.  I think they think I'm lying about my eating.  One guy actually asked me if I was getting at least 1500 calories a day!  He even asked my husband!  And every time I see my plastic surgeon he tells me to eat a candy bar.  It's so weird to be in this position after suffering with obesity for so long.

Good job on the cholesterol numbers!

Oh Diane,
I am always so glad to read your posts. I had to laugh when I read this one, because I just had my physical with my pcp also, and I weighed with my knee high boots on. I also was afraid to take my boots and jacket off to weigh or to empty my pockets.
On her scale, I weighed about 4 lb more than I actually weigh. I was afraid of what she would say if I did.
As it was, she said my BMI was perfect at my current weight, and I probably wouldn't want to lose any more. LOL.
She also praised my chol, HDL, etc, etc.
Yeah.... "who'd thunk it"

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

Ain't it great!!!!   I used to close my eyes at the doctor when they weighed me and told them not to tell me. And my cholestorol used to be 300. I was a fat wreck.   I too weigh 4 lbs less than doctor thinks. I always wished I could get a fat doctor and i had one for awhile but she quit the group. Now this skinny guy thinks i am too thin. but he doesn't dwell on it. i am bmi 21 so do't see it as an issue.

and yeah, isn't it great to be told not to lose more?    thats a first for me too as I have been told by doctors to lose weight since about the age of 10.  hee hee.      its so great to live in a slim world.   Diane

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
