I haven't been counting carbs. I've been mindful of what I eat (or so i thought). So today I left out all carbs except what was in my yogurt and the few in my protein drinks.
Imagine my surprise when I was hardly hungry at all today!
Back to basics it is!!
Thanks ladies for all your replies and support!

I'm as scared of regain as the next person!! My surgeon did say that if we can maintain during months 18-24 and not regain, we're in good shape for continued maintenance. I hope he's right!
I'm going to step outside the box here and suggest that perhaps if we are not eating the most nutrient dense foods (protein and veggies come to mind), our bodies crave more nutrition and therefore we are hungry faster? I think that any sort of junk sets up the craving cycle for me. An ounce of pistachio nuts (my real go to when I need/want something to have a party in my mouth) really also nourished me so that 1 ounce is enough. If it were potato chips I would want to finish whatever size bag it was. I find that I can now eat lots more than I could six months ago and still maintain my weight without piles of stress. I do allow myself that two pound range. Strangely enough, if I start the day with an Isopure Dutch Chocolate hot cocoa for 25 grams of protein, the scale goes lower the next day. For me, year three is about learning how to listen to my body, eat to nourish, move enough, hydrate enough, take my vitamins and learn about balance. I've spent over 50 years in deprivation mode, I'd like to finally end that cycle and learn how to feel good about my body and the food that I give it for sustenance. For me that includes some treats like whipped cream on my protein cocoa, occasional buttered popcorn in the movie theatre. I'll always be on a "good food plan", often referred to as a "diet". I track my food, know my realities and then go out and have fun. I know from my behaviour when I will be up on the scale the next day or the day after. There's no surprises anymore. I pray it stays that way!
