Hi Sweetheart,

Nice to hear from you.  Well... I guess it is time for a little update...

No I am not home and won't be for awhile...

Sweet hubby and I decided I was not getting better on Caye Caulker and in order to jump start my healing I needed a safe place to heal and grow.

I talked to my sister in the US on a Thursday and by Friday evening I was here.  I am on a self imposed Buddhism retreat...  I am set up in one of her rooms, with everything I need to learn about Buddhism, meditation and yoga.  I have been here 3 weeks.

I am eating very healthy, I am walking 3 miles a day, I study for hours and hours through library books, online info and documentaries...  I meditate twice  a day, I do yoga once  a day...  It is going really well...

I was becoming more and more of a recluse, I was down to 130.8 lbs and not really approprieate on my 6 foot frame...  ooops ...

I am staying here until I am not only better, but until I can learn, through buddhism how to 'handle' negative people and things in my life.  It is hard to be away from Barry and little Sadi, but it must be done before I lose myself...

I have been meaning to give an update, so thanks for checking in with me.

I see you each day, and cheer you and your 2 lb range on.

I am going to ease up a bit on the healthy snacks and stay below 140 lbs...  But I am not going to worry about where I am in the 130's as long as I stay there...

Hi Sweetie,

Lots of Hugs!! I was starting to get a bit worried about you. I know, we always want to weigh less, but sometimes, it starts to get unhealthy. I am happy to hear that you are realizing that you were dropping too low for your height and frame. It takes a lot of strength and courage to reach out for help. Kudos to you!!

Buddism is supposed to be wonderful and peaceful, and is something that I should learn more about. It sounds like you are achieving some peace of mind and stability. Your sister sounds very supportive and a healthy influence for you. What you are learning is the beginning of the process of learning to "handle" negative influences. It is an ongoing journey, but it sounds like, you are developing some skills and coping strategies to handle the stresses more effectively. There is always progress and development to be made. I guess, that is why, life is called a journey. We are never "there" but always a work in progress.

Hi Cindy

So good to see a post from you. A retreat is a great idea - really helps to get oneself "re-centered". Hope you are feeling better and stronger everyday. Negative people and energy are big downers - best avoided.      And you are doing the right thing with weight. Everything is about moderation; not deprivation.    Diane

I've missed you guys.  But I made sure I checked in daily.  Kind of being self centered right now...  but in this particular case, at this particular time, I think that is a very good thing :)

I was not necessarily depriving myself, I think my stress was eating almost all the food I was putting into me.  I have gained back up where I should be.  And I am pleased about that, so is my family.  I would prefer to stay below 140 lbs, so I will ease back for a couple of days, but increase again once I am firmly established in the 130's again...

I am getting stronger and stronger every day.  I am doing all the right things so I expect to be back to myself and beyond in no time.

Thanks for always being here Di, it is so appreciated my friend.
