Hey Maureen, good to see you!

Lets see, I am 2.5 years out and I love food I love to eat and look forward to my meals.  They satisfy me, feel good going down, stay down (for a short while as they don't leave me full for long), then I'm hungry and hour or two later and am ready to do it all again.  I guess thats called grazing, but I'm hungry dammit!

Unfortunately I haven't helped you, but I'm kind of the opposite, it always feels good to have a full (or partially) full tummy.

I take a PPI every day for indigestion, but besides that feel terrific (except for the hunger).  Maybe you need to take 2?

Does everything bother you or only special food and or liquids?

I hope someone has some better answers for you!

i bet you are eating too much too fast. my hubby sleever has this problem. I have to be careful how much i serve him as he has the habit of eating whatever is put in front of him regardless of his tummy saying stop.

he also tends to eat too fast. always has. dr. says this is a hard habit to break. hubby now uses an egg timer to make himself stop 2 or 3 times during a meal for 5 minutes or so.

so try dishing up smaller amounts. if you are still hungry you can get more.

i still love food but have learned to avoid the discomfort that too much gives me. wasn't easy but can be learned.

you also might check with your doctor to see if you have a stricture or something.

Have you talked to your doctor?  Have you had a swallow test down?  Could you have some type of blockage or twisting, or something?  This doesn't sound normal.  PLease, please, get yourself to your doctor.  I also agree with previous poster that maybe you need to chew more, and eat slower.  Maybe you are taking too big of bites and swallowing air?

Good luck to you.

The only time I don't feel well when eating is when I eat too fast or don't chew well enough.  Happened earlier this week.  I'm a slow learner.  But I don't have the stomach acid.  I would speak to your surgeon about it.  YOu shouldn't feel that way.  I still look forward to my meals too.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Maureen,
This almost sounds like a hiatel (sp) hernia?! My best friend, who is not a WLS patient, is having surgery in a couple weeks...her symptoms are exactly like what you're describing. Go visit your favorite PCP!
