...doing the same thing and expecting different results.  I have been on such a roller coaster.  The ride is not fun, though.  I have gained.  I come back to this board when the going is good.  Then I retreat when the demons return.  I overwhelmingly know that I can't do this alone.  Old habits have crept back in because I left the door wide open.
I need to quit beating myself up and just get on with starting over.  My WLS surgeon insisted on a two week liquids only "diet" pre-surgery.  Last week, I decided to do this again for a reset.  Something about protein shakes has kept me in the bathroom.  I had good intentions.  So the easy answer didn't work.  I even considered Weigh****chers.  I am so disappointed that I'm back to where I was...head wise.  Yes, I lost 100 lbs.  I need to give myself some credit!  I have regained 20 lbs.  I simply need to get back to the basics.  I have the tools.  I have the My Fitness Pal app.  I have the knowledge.  I have you.  I am getting in my own way.
I have read some previous posts about getting back on track.  As long as my getting up out numbers my falling down, I suppose I can call that a victory.  Sounds like I need to invest in some chicken breast and veggies.  I can do this.  I need some good karma from you sent my way.  In return, I'm officially back on this solid gold board.

My ole dad used to always say:  "Honey, it is time for you to go to the mat with yourself."  It must be an old-fashioned saying, but I knew at an early age exactly what he meant. It is time, Janet, for you to knuckle down, focus on getting your head right, and have a few victories here coming up. Nothing breeds weight loss like a little success. You can do it, you did it just recently, and you can do it. Do not be afraid of yourself. Be strong, confident, and aggressive in reclaiming your looks and your health. Good luck, and you know all of us on here are rooting for you. Mind-meld!!

I love "be strong, confident and aggressive".  I have to believe that I am worth it.  Thank you so much.

If you know that you are eating off plan, can you start eliminating those foods? Food tracking and exercise always help me. Protein and veggies are the way to go. You still have a tool, but you have to focus on protein and veggies.

The bathroom issue, constipation from the protein or diarrhea from possible lactose intolerance?

good luck to you and sending you positive thoughts.

Diarrhea.  Big time.  Something I've never noticed with milk or yogurt.  I was making shakes with skim milk.  I haven't tried Click made with water.  I'm traveling with my job for the next few days.  I'll experiment later!  It could get not pretty!  Thank you.

Sending you lots of {{{HUGS}}} and good vibes!  I am glad to hear you are on MyFitness Pal.  There are several of us over there.  Please friend me Doris62, all the Dees no matter what combination I came up with were taken.  We have a group of very encouraging people and you will recognize some from here.  I love getting encouraging notes on my phone during the day.  Helps to keep your mind on track.

Welcome back and so glad to see you again.

Welcome back, and I am so glad to hear that you are tracking food again.  What are your caloric, protein and carb goals for yourself?  What are the strategies you will use to meet them?  I would love to read more about your overall plan.

I haven't started tracking again.  When using My Fitness Pal, I was aiming for 1200 calories, 75 grams of protein.  Carbs?  This is the mystery.  How low is realistic?  I like fruit and veggies to much to do "no carb".  I am a very black and white person.  All or nothing.  I do struggle with the whole carb mystique.  Good ones.  Bad ones. As a rule, I avoid bread and pasta.  So my plan? Dust off the Foreman grill and keep it simple.  I've relied on fake food - protein bars - out of pure laziness.  Up my exercise.  It's not hard to up it since it has been at zero!  Thank you for making me think.

Good start.  That was my whole point, it is great to want to make a change, but unless you get very specific with yourself and put some clear verbs into it, your chance of success in not great.  I would really encourage you to sit down and write it down.  Really come up with YOUR optimal plan and figure out the strategies to get there.  Think about what might get in your way and how you will go around it, think about your motivation and write it down.  Treat this as you would any other major project.  You deserve your very best.
