I am 18 months out down 137 pounds and now I need help on snacking.  I wasn't snacking much before but I find myself snacking more now.  What are the best snack and what are you eating for dinner now.  I just want to get some ideas, I have come too far to turn around.  I have picked up about 4 pounds that I want to loose.

In the afternoon when I am hungry I have a protein bar...the pure protein bars.  That helps hold me over.  I will have almonds and an apple sometimes.  or a slice of cheese.  If I snack I try to have something with protein in it.
My dinners are the same.  Basically some protein and veggies.  I eat what I make for my family , I just don't do the carbs.

Hope you get some good suggestions. I will watch and see as I would love some new suggestions too.

my surgeon says vsg stomach empties out faster and that its ok do do 5 meals a day rather than three if thats what works. sounds like 3 meals and 2 snacks to me.

some of the stuff I eat if i am genuinely hungry but its not mealtime or i can;t get one are:

string cheese or beef jerky
grapes - sweet and filling
soy nuts or almonds
baby carrots or these cute baby cucumbers they have at costco (mean to try them with hummus)
a low carb tortilla dusted with parmissan cheese and then nuked on power 4 for 3 to 5 minutes until it darkens. let cool and its crisp. if you burn it, start over.
yasso frozen greek yogurt bars from costco.

Thanks Diane!  I just left the store and purchased some grapes, strawberries and string cheese.  Have you ever heard of frozen grapes.  I have a coworker who freezes her grapes and she said they are awesome that way...!!!

Your problem mirrors mine I was never really a snacker even at my heaviest I love food however with the sleeve I feel like I am never content except when constantly eating I feel like I eat all the time and when I stop I get weak. I think the only reason I haven't started really gaining is I excerise everyday I made a appointment with the dietian for feedback I think I need way more protein

How much protein are you getting? The recommendation is about 70-80 grams/day. I get more than that, but I like my protein. I log my food, so I keep track of calories, protein, carbs, fat, and everything else.

Maybe, track your protein for a few days. If it is lower than the recommended amount, you could increase it. Protein helps to maintain saiety. Also, if you aren't eating every 3-4 hours, that might be why you feel weak. Maintaining a proper blood glucose level is very important and can be achieved with eating protein at every meal/snack with some carbs (healthy ones).  If your protein is on the low side, you may need more, especially if you exercise everyday.

Tracking your food for a few days will help the dietitian to give you feedback on potential changes you might need to make.
