18 Months

I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last year and a half!!  I lost most of my weight by 6 months post op at which time I got pregnant.  The pregnancy was a very easy and uneventful one.  The baby is now 3 months old and I'm back to losing.  I'm about 5 pounds below the lowest weight that I had gotten to before the pregnancy.  I'm hoping to lose another 12 in order to reach my "dream goal weight".  I never thought I'd be teetering just above the 120's, so 119 is actually seeming doable.

My skin is getting kinda saggy, but I'm hoping some of the stomach sag is from the pregnancy and that it will still firm up a bit.  My thighs are the worst!!  I think that most of the weight I have left to lose is on my thighs.  They are already getting quite saggy, so if I lose the rest of this I can't even imagine how bad they're going to look!  Lately I find myself losing weight from weird places rather than the places I need to lose it from.  I'm hoping things redistribute over time.  For example, I have a crown that is not fitting right anymore and my dentist says it is because of all the weight loss, apparently you even lose weight from your gums, weird!  My boobs continue to shrink even with breastfeeding, soon they will just be empty tube socks!   I'd love to have plastics done since I'm only 29 and my skin is only going to get worse with time, but with two little kids (and hopefully a few more in the future) I just can't see undergoing the risks of another surgery just so I can look better in shorts!  Not to mention, it would be pretty tough for us to find a way to afford it.

Skin issues aside, I'm so happy with the way I look and with my decision to have surgery.  As I get ready to turn 30, I have everything that I could ever have dreamed of.  If you asked me at 20 where I wanted to be at 30, I guarantee I would've said that I wanted to be married with a few kids and that in a perfect world I'd want to be thin... I have it all!  I'm loving life and the new me!

What a great post. Shows that life is full of good things and its possible to change for the better. I bet the skin thing improves for you as time goes by since you are young and chasing toddlers. Enjoy your new life!  Diane

How exciting for you to be so young and having had this surgery.  I wish I could have done this 10 years ago.  I think about how different my life with my children would have been if they had a thin, active, healthy mom.  But there is no going back, only looking forward.  Good luck with your little one.
