VSG Maintenance Group
Hello!
Goodmorning all! This is my first time posting on the maintainence forum...I thought I would actually get to my goal weight before I called myself in maintainence. Oh well, that hasn't happened so far. I think I need some accountability to actually make it. I had surgery on January 6, 2010. As you can see by my widgit my original goal was 170. I'm close but haven't lost any in about 4 months or so. I fluctuate about 2 lbs up or down on any given day. It isn't really hard to maintain here, but I'm not done. To have a normal bmi I need to lose 22 more lbs for a weight of 155. I'm not sure if I want to go that low, but I do need some plastics and would like to get to a weight I'm satisfied with before I look into it.
I really enjoy reading posts on this forum. You guys are all very motivating and encouraging. I've posted on the main forum in the past and still lurk there but feel out of place now that I'm out so far. Reality and real life set in at about 18 months or so I think. Food taste good again and if you're not careful portions get larger. I'm a fan of Frisco and undereating the sleeve, but have a bit of a problem sticking to that. I do still weigh my meats and measure veggies. Restriction is still good...but I've let too many carbs slip in. I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom so I'm at home all day, most everyday. A bite of this and a taste of that adds up and doesn't always get counted.
Well, I've rambled enough. Time to corral the kiddos and get on with the day!

First of all, welcome!
Secondly, it sounds like you know what you need to do. We're here to support you. I recently let carbs back in during the holidays & gained 10 pounds. I have 4 of those off with 6 to go. WE CAN DO THIS!

Revision from Sleeve to DS (with re-Sleeve) on 10/10/17. Slow and steady ...
welcome to our group. There is lots of good info here so go through the old posts for thoughts on your issues.
It must be hard to cook for families and kids whose nutrition issues are different. The only thing I can suggest is to always have an appropriate protein item readily available to grab instead of something not good. Like a sf popsicle, greek yougurt frozen bar, soy nuts, jerky or my personal favorite - red grapes.
you will see over and over on this forum where people have stalled out for months and then resumed losing. it can be done. Maybe you can have a glass of tea or other no cal drink to sip while you cook instead of tasting.

Someone in support group told me about them. the brand is Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars on a stick like a popsicle. the only place i know to get them is costco. they are blueberry and strawberry. 70 calories and 6 g protein and some carbs. a good ice cream substitute. you could google the brand and see if they are available elsewhere. Welcome! You can do it! I know how you feel because I haven't lost anything in several months and my weight has gone through those exact same fluctuations you mentioned.
One think I would like to suggest to you is to look into some type of gym for you and your children. We have a couple Y's around here and they both offer a home schooling/PE courses for homeschoolers and their parents. I don't homeschool but I have several friends that do and they go to the Y 3+ times a week. The kids have specific classes designed for them and the moms can work out. Seems like a great fit and could be a positive experience for all. Just a suggestion...

Thanks guys for the advice! I am def going to start working out either at the gym or here at home again. I had a membership and was working out 3 to 4 days a wee****il about September of last year. I have no excuses except for a sciatica problem and laziness! I'm discouraged today b/c I let myself have permission to eat (and drink) too many carbs yesterday and the scales didn't like me at all this morning!!!! First time I've seen 180 in a couple of months. Focusing on protein today and drinking my water!
