VSG Maintenance Group
Hi everyone...
Hello. I am new to this group and I have a question.
I reached my goal of 170 about 2 to 3 months ago. Right now I am at 158 which I am not happy with because it's too much...I look very skinny and it's not flattering on my 5'10 inch frame. I know this is probably a silly and obvious question, but how did you guys stop losing weight? I cant seem to eat more food (my average intake is 900 calories a day, I track everything I eat) to up my calories. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had this too. after awhile you will be able to eat more. meanwhile, I started having a big blob of peanut butter each day as an evening treat. Still do. other nuts are good. And my nut suggested having a glass of 1 or 2% milk or make your protein drink with it. Don't be in too big a rush to put on weight. after another 6 months or year your capacity to eat will increase and you may be glad you were a little on the low side. this happened to me so putting back 3 lbs has been no big deal.
And atkins endulge bars are like a candy bar but low carb and have protein and taste good. Diane

What Diane said. I would seriously consider just hanging out in the low end of normal for a while. In no time at all, your capacity will increase and you will find you really should not have worried about being too thin. It's nice to have a little wiggle room. I am 2.5 years out, and I went through the exact same thing early out, I now wish I would have just waited it out. Don't get me wrong, I am still really happy with my weight, but the days of being too thin and needing more calories are long gone. Of course if you feel strongly about it, just eat calorie dense food like nuts, almond butter, and full fat dairy.
I have been having a hard time maintaining my weight when I am busy. I drop alot of weight because I need alot of time to eat enough of the right foods to maintain. I cannot eat very quickly at all, and if I am busy, I know I will lose a few pounds just because I haven't enough time to get in the calories I need. I will be 2 years out next month, and I am struggling to maintain 121 lb. I lost down to 119 last month during a busy time, and have been striving to get a few lb back on. I too have found peanut butter very helpful. I just can't eat very much of anything at one time.
I've been adding some canned coconut milk to my shakes. It has about 100 calories and around 10 gms of fat for 1/3 of a cup. This varies depending on the brand.
I also have been cooking my meat and veggies with coconut oil.
I eat nuts like everyone else said and love to have a blob of peanut butter on a spoon, but I recently starting eating a Paleo diet and peanuts are not allowed, so now its almond butter and sunflower butter.
Homemade qucamole with my meat ups the calories and helps the meat go down better.
I think the best way though to stop the loss is to add some healthy carbs like fruit and sweet potatoes (sliced and cooked with coconut oil of course!)

What the heck are these people eating (and I don't say this in a mean way) or should I say not eating? I am having one hell of a time getting the last ten pounds off!
