DH Shrinking Nerd has an nsv. He can now sit cross legged like we did when we were kids (used to be called "Indian style" but I guess thats politically incorrect). So he sits like that in his extra large recliner all the time now. so cute.    Diane

So Cool !!!

Tell the shrinking nerd I said hey!

In Japan, I had to avoid dinners that were traditional Japanese Style, sitting "Indian Style" on the traditional Tatami Mats....... I just couldn't do it and breath at the same time (y'all know what I'm talkin about) Sitting for an hour or more in that position.... and eating..???? Not ideal for the obese(fat).

Last year was my first Tatami Mat Dinner since WLS......Freaked out at first.....was just fine...... turns out my God Daughter and her boyfriend announced their marriage intentions..... I woulda missed it if I were still obese.......

I will give the Shrinking Nerd your regards. Its so funny to me that he sits that way in that chair because I bought him the "extra large" recliner chair 12 years ago when the one he had broke from weight. Now the dog fits beside him.

So great you can do the Tatami Mat Dinner - another nsv like being able to sit in any old chair without pre-judging its sturdiness.   diane

That's great Diane.  Always good to have something to be grateful for.

Love  the image of the dog sitting up there with him.

I sit that way all the time too now...it's so comfy...also cross my legs a lot...I guess you forget these things when you can't do them.

I also have the XL recliners, now my daughter and I can sit side- by- side in them!

How wonderful for both of you!  Recognizing the NSV, and the other NSV is that his lovely wife is noticing!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Shrinking Nerd is what you call your husband?

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.
