Confession Time and Accountability

It has been a while since I posted.  And, you know what happens when you don't keep up with your support group.  You have a HUGE need for CONFESSION!

Time for honesty ... Since the birth of my son on October 11 (we adopted an adorable newborn little boy ) to January 1st, I gained 10 pounds from my "preferred" weight. I totally went off plan - ate cookies, cakes and all the treats around for the holidays.
In my past life, I would have blown this off as "anyone would have gained weight with the holidays".

But, the new me needs to be accountable.  Only I choose what I put in my mouth and what happens to my body.

I have since taken off 3 pounds, but have 7 to go.  I am going to do this!  I am NOT going to revert to old "excuses".  And, I expect to get a good kick in the pants if you don't see me posting or keeping track of my progress.
Are you up for supporting me?

Thanks in advance guys!

How about a big hug instead?  Regain is a life long issue for all of us.  You are doing great in that you caught it at 10 pounds and have already begun to address it.  Seven pounds is very doable, and you will do it.  What is your plan?  Will you wright it out here and be accountable to following it daily?  You can let us know how you are doing every day, we will support you.

Thanks for the hug - I could feel it!

As far as my plan, I am going back to eating like I did for the last 10 pounds to get me to goal.  For accountability to myself, I am tracking every bite on myfitnesspal.  As far as accountability to my fellow sleevers, I plan to update my progress each week on this thread.

Thanks for the support.

I'm pulling for ya!! I know you can do it.
I too find that what works for me best is the food journaling on myfitnesspal.com. It always pulls me back to the reality of what I am taking into my body in fat, protein, carbs and calories and gets me back on track better than anything else.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

We're here!  I had a gain over the holidays too but it came back off pretty easily.  I was kind of shocked, actually that it came off easiy.  Of course, I exercise almost daily (2-3 x) and I can honestly say that I think that's the reason for my success.

Congratulations on your new little boy.  What is his name?  Details please!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Good to know it came off fast. I was pretty happy with 3 pounds in less than 2 weeks.

I have wanted to adopt since I was 18. We have 3 "natural" children, but the longing was still there. We had started looking into foreign adoption of a little girl between 4 to 6, but it just didn't feel "right". Our little Gunnar just about fell into our laps & we couldn't say no. God knew all those other times that His timing was the right time. People say what a great thing we did for him and his 14 year old birth mother. What they don't realize is how he filled the whole in my heart. Ok - enough mushy talk!
