Hi there,
I am 13 months post op and I have lost 15 pounds more then I was wanting to.
My goal was 135 and I am now 120 my family say that I am looking to skinny and looking old cause i have lost a lot in my face as well.
I have been eating more carbs and I ate alot of sweets this x-mas and I still lost.
Should I be worried??? Is this normal? I am 5"3.
Thanks for your replys,

If you are 5'3" and 120 I don't think you are at risk for being too thin. Your body will have a bounce back more than likely and your fat will redistrubute after a big loss. I would just go with the flow if I were you. People will say all kinds of crazy things when you are losing weight. If you are feeling well then just keep on keeping on.

I think what is important here is how you feel, not how others around you feel.. Do you feel you are to thin?

You can add back in healthy fats or an extra protein shake, a spoon full of peanut butter, advavcado and try and stabilise your weight so you do not keep dropping.

Yes there are some people that do seem to drop below where they want to be and have to stop the weight loss, I think those are the lucky ones but i wasnt one of them i had to work for my last bit of weight to come off.

id give your weight some time and see if your fat you have left distributes and your extra loss gives you bounce back room...

But if your truely unhappy once your weight loss has stabilised then you could gain a lb or 2 back and see how you feel.

I'm 5'3" also and weigh between 114-116.  I did drop to 110 but worked my way up to 118.  Once you start adding foods in maintenance you do get used to eating more, and then you might face the opposite problem- trying  not to gain anymore.  It's a balance that I work on every day in maintenance.  the farther out you are, the more you can eat and your fat really  does redistribute  once you stop losing.

People do say the darnedest thing though.  People will tell me to stop losing, yet I've been at this weight for almost 3 years.  Other people will tell me that I look better since I've gained, yet I have weighed this weight for almost 3 years!

I added nuts and peanut butter and stopped losing.  I also added fun foods like ice cream.  But now that I don't want to gain, I had to cut them out and only have them every now and then.  Tweak your diet a little at a time until you find what works for you.

I am 5"2", and I went down to 101 for about a second.  I now stay around 103-106 ish.  My doctor's goal for me 110 lbs.  People at first told me that I was too thin, now at 2.5 years out, they don't say that anymore and I have grown to really like this weight.  If you want to stop losing, just up the calories, especially fat and carbs.  With time, I would bet you that you will find the opposite problem.  You are going to get used to eating more and will have to keep things in balance to prevent gain.  It is crazy, but I am always having to keep that balance between being too thin or starting to gain.

Thanks for your postes everyone,
So are you saying that soon I will be having to try and keep the fat off again!? That is such a scary thought! Is it going to be the same like before, like if I eat a icecream and seem to gain a couple pounds from it or close to it!, U know what I mean, to gain that easy.
Right now I can eat sweets  and snack on carby food and not gain no weight , all thats going to change hu?
I got to say I love my sleeve right now!!!! I just dont want it to change

Congrats on reaching your goal. Yes it can be unnerving to keep losing below goal. It happened to me. What finally got me to level out was eating a blob of peanut butter every night which I still do. The best way to stop losing is with healthy fats like nuts, avocado and fine cheeses. I stayed away from the carbs and sugar and still do as I was such a terrible addict.

so what you have described happens a lot. you may be fine at this lower weight. my surgeon said i am not too thin and while i could put a few pounds back if i wanted, i was fine at the low weight. he said eat complex carbs if i wanted to gain a few. i decided to stay as I was. lo and behold a couple of pounds sneaked back on.  so at 2 or 3 years this may happen to you and its good to have a little leeway. i wouldn't do anything drastic except up your calories with the healthy fats. I think whats going on with you is pretty common.

And people told me i was too skinny. i got retin-a for the wrinkles in my face that used to be pooched out with fat.  it helps. I like being this skinny. you need to decide at what weight you feel best at and make that your target. gl and enjoy the slim life.    Diane
