Something VERY interesting is happening with my excess skin...
Ok, now this is cool. I will try to explain:
1. As I lost weight I noticed I had excess skin, under my arms on my tummy (especailly above my belly button), my butt and upper thighs.
2. My thighs were at bit cottage cheesey, my butt had two bottoms, my arms and tummy hung a bit...
3. The weirdest thing is happening... as I lose more weight, the excess remaining fat in those areas is coming off. So, I figure it was not just 'skin' it was skin with fat in it.
Now the fat is disappearing and I am noticing the following:
- My arms are smaller and with less hanging skin.
- My tummy is smaller and smoother, and not hanging nearly as much.
- My butt is just about at the point where I have only one bum bottom... there is just a slight crease below my actual bum.
- And my thighs are smoothing out, they still have a bit of sag on the outter upper part, but not nearly as noticable...
Also, on another topic, a while back I tried waterproof mascara and quickly realized I was allergic to it. If I wore it daily it looked like I had styes in my eyes... so I stopped.
Well, this is so funny, now if I only put the waterproof mascara on once ever 3-4 days or so, I don't have nearly as much of a reaction. What is funny about that you might ask!?! Well I still swell a bit and because of that, the area around my eyes fills out and there are definately less wrinkles. How frickin' cool is that? Cheap cheap botox!
The negatives about being this small:
- teeny tiny perky boobies
- a funny little divit in my chin, but I am sure it will work itself back out (bit of excess skin I think)
- my spine, butt, chest area are all VERY bony...
- my clothes are too big again... need to do some alterations...
- no matter how much I lose I don't have a flat tummy or smooth slender slim thighs... sigh... oh well, I do feel absolutely fantastic!! And I love the way I look and feel...
ANYWAY, just wanted to give a quick update... or not so quick, sorry this turned out to be so long...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE, AND ALL THE BEST OF THE SEASON & NEW YEAR TO EACH OF YOU MY SWEET FRIENDS!!

Cindy, this is a brilliant post. I have really enjoyed watching you fall in love with and appreciate your body. I think that finding joy without the constant critical eye is something for us all to strive for. I'm really proud of you!

Hi Cindy--this is exactly the post I have been hoping someone would do. My BMI is 24.9. I will continue to lose till I get to a BMI of about 22. I know yours is low, in the low 20's, if I recall. I think gals with lower BMI's just plain look so much better. And with their clothes on (in the photos on the main board, and on here too) you can barely make out they have any loose skin at all. I am hoping, like you, that my body will re-distribute its fat stores too. Esp to my chin waddle and my arms. I adore spanx and it really holds in the loose skin. But with spanx I have found that if your frame is smaller, with a lower BMI, the loose skin is much easier to squish up against your bone structure and make you look like you have no loose skin at all. You are 2.5 years out, and it is amazing your body is still changing, even though you are still losing slowly. Your post has brought alot of hope to us on here. Fat is not a static organ, it moves and changes and heaves and hos just like our other dynamic organs. So we should all be patient and give our bodies time. Thanx and Merry Xmas to all of you good folks down in Belize.
great post. so thrilled for you that more weight loss is helping saggy skin. I sure have a lot of sags and at my age i think its permanent. But its ok - part of the deal. but lucky you to get such great results!!
Regarding the mascara, i heard that people used to put preparation H on their crow's feet to get them to shrink up!! Don't think i will try it. Diane

Yeah, I am pretty sure my shrinking is done. I know now if I lose some weight, my skin gets more saggy, not less. Well, not counting my panus. It may sag more but it also gets smaller when it gets less fat. But the arms and side skin hang lower unfortunately.

It is not so much that I 'have' less skin, it is that as the fat shrinks below it, I 'look' like I have less skin. I don't think the skin itself is still snapping back... It just looks better with less fat under it, if that makes any sense...
My eventual plan is to put muscle under it... I hope that will help take up any slack I have...

What I've found is that there is a balance point. If my fat shrinks too much, I get a lot of wrinkles on my arms and they actually look worse!
But too much fat and they get "flappy".
