NSV
Today I had my followup appointment with my plastic surgeon. He said that I was doing good and healing nicely. I was a little bummed that he didn't remove my two remaining drains. I knew it was for the best but still a little bummed.
I ducked into the cafeteria in the hospital for a quick bite to eat while I waited for my wife to pick me up. I sat at one of those cafeteria style bench tables eating a blueberry muffin.
This women approached me and said is your name Michael? I said Yes. She said you probably don't remember me but we met at the Weight Loss Expo in May that was at the Marriott Hotel. I said you do look familiar. My Doctors office sponsored the expo and I volunteered. She said my name is Pam.
Pam then went on to tell me that she was on the fence for weight loss surgery for several years. She said that when she met with me at the expo, heard my story and saw my before and after pictures. I helped pushed her over the fence and she left there determined to have the surgery.
Pam said that she had her Sleeve surgery in August and has lost 67 pounds to date. She is 6 pounds short of entering into the 200's. We traded cellphone numbers and I encouraged her to call me for support.
She said it was the best decision she ever made and she owed it to me and wanted to thank me for my words of encouragement.
How sweet is this. I can't tell you how great this made me feel.
