I have been asked how I lost the weight I gained...
Thank you everyone who complimented me and encouraged me on my losing my excess weight!!
Ok, since I went slightly over my goal weight of 155 lbs, which was up 13 lbs from my lowest weight of 142... I decided enough was enough... and I started to work on getting those extra pounds off.
Rather than dieting for a month or whatever and getting frustrated with stalls and binging, and fighting my body every step of the way....
I did the following:
- I only tried to behave perfectly when my body was in losing mode.
- When my body was not in losing mode, I eased up a bit, until the next losing mode.
- I am a step loser, I know this and used to fight it, now I make it work to my advantage.
- When my body starts losing, for no reason, I behave almost to perfection, and I lose and lose fast...
- When my body stops losing, for no reason, I ease up and enjoy a few meals out and a few treats now and then, and I maintain within a pound or two.
- I rarley eat out now, but do on occassion
- I rarely eat junk food, but I do on occassion (this is one of the biggest hurdles I have overcome in this process.)
- When I got sick and stopped going out anywhere, I stopped walking... something had to give... if I did not exercise and continued to eat the same amount, I would continue to gain, well beyond the my goal weight of 155... like I said something had to give, something had to change from every other time...
- I stopped going out, which meant, I stopped having easy access to junk food, and somehow I started to not miss it, it was a huge turning point for me...
- I am now walking again, usually with hubby, so he can fend people off, and give me the space I need... but we are walking daily... feels sooooooooo good, I have really missed it.
- We have a lot going on in our lives right now, and losing the weight feels like one of the only things I have complete control over... I am feeling really good and really proud of myself.
I am at 143 ish, the weight I was when I met my sweet hubby and I probably done losing for another month. During the next losing phase I hope to get back down to my low of 142 and beyond to my dream goal of 140 lbs... that is my plan... that is what I am doing to acheive it.
I eat the following almost daily:
- black licorise herbal tea
- raw oats, milk and raisins or banana for breakfast
- water
- no snacks, unless I get truly hungry, then I have a small amount of raisins or a piece of cheese
- water
- flour tortilla with cheese, meat or beans, cucumber, ranch dressing, spices and hot sauce
- no snacks, unless I get truly hungry, then I have a small amount of raisins or a piece of cheese
- several diet coke at happy hour
- fish, pork, sausage, poultry or a cheese and meat omlette for dinner
- water, sometimes another diet coke, sometimes raisins
(as you can see I am mindful of my carbs, but not low carbin' it)
I faithfully take all viatamins and supplements daily.
That's what Cindy is doing over the course of the last and the next few months.
Big hugs and thanks for all of your support, you guys mean the world to me...

Cindy, I'm so proud of you for learning how to listen to your body and figuring out what works for you. It's amazing that we are all so different from one another and that our paths can really differ. Big kudos for you for learning to listen and to learn how to live with your wonderful sleeve for the best healthful benefits. You'll get to that dream goal at some point! :)

Knew you could do it, Cindy! You have a good plan. I have a plan too, but finding it very hard to stick to during these holidays. So far, so good. I have indulged in some sweets and carbs, but still behaving most of the time. Up 2 pounds so I'm good. Won't let myself go more than 3 pounds up from my lowest.
Weighing in weekly at TOPS helps keep me honest. But boy, it is hard sometimes!!
