So I decided to be one of the crazy ones to go black Friday shopping at Midnight last night.  I really needed a coat because I no longer have one that fits me.  Not only did I get a great price on it...but I got it in a Medium!!  I think that the last coat I bought was a XXL...  I was excited for the price I got it for but the medium fitting perfectly was something I was SO VERY thankful for!!

Love my sleeve!
Hope everyone had a great Turkey day...ate too much yesterday of the wrong things but back on program today.  The holidays are no longer a  3 month food party!

Yea!! Happy for you!! I was so happy to be able to share clothes with my 25-year-old daughter while she was here visiting. She's 120 pounds soaking wet and wears a 4 or 5 and a medium shirt. Incredible.

I'm still trying to figure out how I was a size 7 in high school and weighed 124 pounds with HUGE boobs and now am a size 6 (sometimes a 4) and weigh 140 pounds (had a breast reduction years ago). How the heck does THAT work?? LOL.

Vanity sizing for sure!   I weigh the same as I did in high school and wore a 12/14.  Now I'm wearing an 8 or 10.  If I got rid of the excess stomach and leg skin, I would weigh less than I did in high school....and could probably wear that size 6.  But, I'm keeping the excess.  Got my arms done, but just can't justify spending more of our retirement money for more plastics.  Spanx are wonderful and cheaper!.

Saving that money now so we can do some more traveling.  If I got my stomach done, we wouldn't have the money to travel and I can't see any point in getting my stomach done then  just staying home.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Congratulations on the new coat.  What a mental victory to get the medium!  I can so relate.  Last year I found an almost new black coat from Macy's at a good thrift store.  The $9.95 price was great, but the size 12 was even better.  It's too big this year but now I can fit a nice big sweater underneath to keep my always cold self warm.  Isn't it fun watching the sizes go down?

I did good yesterday, focusing on turkey and a tablespoon of the sides. Just a good staredown with carbs puts weight on me.  My scale rewarded me this morning.  I'm just being really careful because of my upcoming plastics.  I want to be maintaining when I get on the table.   I bet you'll be keeping an eye on the December holiday goodies with your surgery just weeks away.  It's great to have a cause (other than the evil scale) to remind us of how we want to eat.

Hi Lee,

YOu are so right about  just the staredown of carbs puts weight on!!  I wasn't as careful with Thanksgiving as I would have liked ..but it was only one day and then back on plan. I think I will be more careful with Christmas knowing I will be just a few weeks away from my plastics.
I was thinking about you this am...you are SO close now! ...the big countdown.  What day do you leave to go to MX?  I am really excited for you!..and cant' wait to hear all the details!

I leave on the 8th.  Bodywork on the 9th and facelift on the 12th.  I'm nervous, excited, scared and can't believe I'm doing this, all at the same time!

Patty, that's great about the new coat and size.  I've loved dropping sizes too.  And I've been able to replace a lot of my wardrobe by finding clothes at the end of the season on sale.

Lee, good luck with your surgery.  PS sounds very painful, but the results will be worth it.

I'm very thankful that I could afford to self pay for my surgery.  And that I lost all my excess weight, though I could lose a couple more pounds.  I'm grateful that my high BP is gone and my knee pain is gone.  I have more energy, and though I'm pushing 60 I feel younger than I have in a long time.  While I am grateful for the surgery and all the sleeve has done, I need to focus on losing the last couple of pounds.  I'm going to step up my exercise and get back to a more basic menu for a short time.

I ate very carefully at Thanksgiving.  I had some champagne, ham and turkey, about 2 bites of potato and stuffing and 1/2 piece of pie.  Tasted everything I wanted and only had a little.  My sleeve is the best.  My kids and I had Thanksgiving with my parents at their retirement center in the restaurant.

Yesterday I cooked a turkey breast in the crockpot so I have plenty to freeze in 3 oz packets.  Time to get back to the basics.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.
