Just wanted to check in
Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while so I just wanted to check in.
I'm currently 7.7 lbs below my doctor's goal weight, but 17lbs above a personal goal weight.
I'm pretty happy with my size. I know that a lot of what I'm not happy about is the excess skin around belly, thighs and flaps of arms. I had a knee injury in July, and my husband got laid off that same month (and still looking) so I was not able to get a simple knee surgery. I don't know if it's the knee thing that caused me to pretty much stop losing, or just the fact that my weight loss was actually right at the point of slowing down anyway. It hasn't stopped all the way, but I've lost about 1 lb or 2 a month. I might fluctuate 5 lbs up or down, but my low number still keep getting slowly lower. So I havent' given up hope that I can reach that personal goal.
I feel like I'm eating a lot, but I have never gained. I know that's a slippery slope so I try to be aware of it, and cut back when I feel I've over done it. But just enjoying life and still enjoying food.
I'm also having a bit of a 33.3%-of-life crisis. I don't have kids and I've always wanted them, but it makes me sad to think I'll have to wait til I'm 40 to get a tummy tuck.
Anyway, that's about it! Bye!

Hang in there. It can get really slow for those last 20 pounds. It took me around 8 months to get them off and that was eating very low carb. One of the surgeons in my practice recently spoke and said that it's not about the exercise (which we should do for good health), but it's about what we put in our mouth whether we shed weight or not. He's all for cutting out all types of sugar, even splenda because it has the same effect (research is showing) on our insulin levels. He said even fruit can be a big culprit in this. I listened to him and got rid of most artificial sugar and dumped the fruit. The weight came off a big faster after that.
