I think its groovy you have found a helpful thing!
I always have a double protein coffee by 30 minutes after I wake up and dense protein for breakfast 30 minute to an hour after that.
I know some folks can eat slidey stuff like yogurt or cottage cheese, or even just have shakes in the morning and that tides them over for a long time, but that doesnt work for me. But I am glad it works for them!!
But whether I do, or dont have the double protein (or single protein) drink 30 minutes after I wake up, my daily hunger is still the same, not lessened at all.
Not good or bad, just the way I am! :}

a protein shake is what i have everyday about an hour after my prunes and two cups of tea and that holds me over for 3-4 hours..

I do find that early protein makes my whole plan day seem to go better - I shoot for within an hour of waking. Like you, a shake will do the job.
