Mike, I am really excited for you.  Please make sure to get enough protein in after surgery.  Your body really needs it to repair itself.  Also, although this doesn't not happen to everybody, I seem to lose quite a bit of weight after surgery.  You might consider increasing your calories.  I had to go to almost twice my normal caloric numbers just to stop losing.  I got down to 101 lbs. and really wanted to stop.  The surgery sent my body into a metabolic frenzy.  I was burning calories like crazy.  Just keep an eye on it.  I did not expect this side effect.  My metabolism went back to normal in about three months, so I had to reduce calories at that point or start to gain weight.  It was a little difficult to stay on top of this.  Good luck to you.  It is a difficult few weeks but it's worth it in the end.

Thanks, I'm planning on increasing my protein levels several days before surgery and shooting to maintain that level. That means I'm going to have to increase my caloric intake. I was expecting to gain weight in the next couple of days. My priority is going to be on healing and not maintenance.

You've gotten good advise Mikey.  Just wanted to wish you good luck!  I know how you feel.  A little nervous, but excited too.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Had my tummy tuck October 24Th. The first 5 days I needed my husband for every thing. He had to pull me up he had to lift me up out of bed. My muscles killed me. but pain pills are great lol. after the 5Th day i was able to sit up by my self roll out of bed. the drains pinched me so much but nothing you can do for them.

I just had my drains removed today I am so excited to be able to lay on my side and go to sleep tonight. The swelling can be bad if you walk around to much so you need to go slow. Best of luck I hope you post pictures of before and after please. I have to take some after ones soon.

If I had a recliner chair it would have helped me to sleep better and to get in and out of it would have been better I think.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.
