Vacation food caught up with me!
After getting home from vacation, I weighed in at TOPS and only gained 1/4 pound. But, as I suspected, my vacation hadn't caught up with me yet. My lowest weight was 141.8. Yesterday I was at 145.4! That's MORE than my self-imposed 3 pound limit.
So, I went back to the fitness center yesterday to do upper body exercise. I hadn't been back because I was told to wait 8 weeks (tomorrow is 8 weeks) after my brachioplasty. It kind of scared me to do the arm exercises, and I know I didn't do as much weight as I know I could do, because what I did was too easy. But I need to take baby steps. The incisions feel "tight" and I don't want to break anything loose (if that's even possible!) This morning I'm at 144.6, so almost a pound less than yesterday.
I have been walking 4-5 times a week since the surgery, but the upper body (muscle) exercises were put on hold due to the surgery. And I can tell in how my clothes feel. This "measly" 3 pounds is scary to me! I feel a little out of control with my eating since allowing myself to do what I darn well pleased during vacation.
I caved yesterday a couple of times with fun sized Snickers. Damn those evil sugars! I just can't let myself cave again until this 3 pounds is back off. So, today I've had my Kashi Go Lean cereal with skim milk. I have fruit for snacks and SF gum to fall back on. I have turkey jerky when I get the urge to chew on something. It's going to be in the 60s today so I'm taking TWO walks. And going to the fitness center.
The holidays are coming. I'm afraid...very, very afraid!

Well thats not so bad for a vacation of the length you took. And I bet some of it is water due to salty restaurant foods. Good that you are on this right away to keep things from getting out of line. My surgeon says five pounds it the amount to get concerned about. So I am totally confident that you will be fine. Yay Wanda. Diane
I know it's not that bad, but it sure freaking me out. I think the fact that I'm feeling somewhat out of control is what is freaking me the most. I'm wanting to eat anything and everyting in sight. I'm not (today anyway), but feeling this way is awful. It is without a doubt the worst time I've felt this way since having WLS. Brings back bad memories.
I'm pretty sure some of it is water weight. I am a little swollen my hand feel tight, but there's nothing real obvious, such as swollen ankles.
And this weekend is a birthday party for our granddaughter. Egads, I'm in trouble!

Hey Wanda you will be fine. Just eat some protein before you go to that birthday party. And eat a little cake - no bigt deal. I bet the food craving goes away when you get back on program for awhile.
Hubby gets sleeved Tuesday. All is ready. I am kind of excited to sort of repeat this journey through him though i know i have forgotten all the rough parts and remember only the good parts. Haven't forgotten how crappy the protein drinks are however. Diane

I'm excited for your hubby! What a difference your household will be once he is also sleeved!
A friend of mine was sleeved 10/18 and she is asking all kinds of questions about what I ate early out and I can't remember! I do my best to answer her questions. She is in a 3 week stall and hasn't really lost anything since surgery, so is getting discouraged already. But, she isn't getting in the needed protein, nor is she drinking enough. I have explained how important that both of these things are in seeing good weight loss. She is going to start logging everything and really counting her intake. At least she listens and is going to try!
A co-worker is going to be sleeved 11/28. I'm a little worried about her - not sure her head is in the right place. She asked me again how soon I could eat candy. I keep telling her that she can eat it any time, but if she wants to get optimal results from the surgery, she needs to abstain for the first year. She doesn't act like she likes that answer. She keeps saying she wants this surgery so she can eat anything she wants, but just smaller amounts. I've tried and tried to educate her about following program 99% of the time while losing and 90% of the time at goal. Not sure she's hearing me. I just don't see her as being a successful sleever, but time will tell. It's frustrating to me to hear her say "I just want a surgery to make me skinny." I keep telling her that the surgery won't make her skinny - SHE will have to do the work. *sigh*

Hey there Diane!!! How exciting that your husband is getting sleeved! It is fun to go through the journey again, and it's sooo awesome that he will have YOU as his" fearless leader and coach"
I am there for my girlfriend who had hers done with Dr. Aceves in Mexico 6 weeks ago. The experience was great but she suffers sooooo very much with nausea that she is basically still doing clear and full liquids where I didn't experience that at all.
So, she still isn't getting her liquids and proteins in to the numbers they should be at by now and hasn't even begun a lot of mushies and none of any dense protein.
She trys so many antacids, ppi's and anti nausea stuff, but nothing has really helped yet. I hope and pray that this passes for her soon. It kills me that she is experiencing this to this degree. She never had acid reflux before.
Well any way, wishing much luck to you and your husband!!!!!!!
