Not a vet, but I'd like your help...3 weeks post op and not hungry or thirsty
Currently this is what I'm eating in a typical day this week:
Today:
24-40oz of water (just got to 48oz)
1 protein drink - 25g of protein / 170 calories (1/2 through one I've been working on all day)
0 vitamins (totally my fault) Will be starting these on Monday
1/2 scrambled egg with sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of soup (today split pea for dinner)
3 kid sized inards only of chicken n cheese quesadilla (over a 2 hour period)
I'm only hungry maybe once a day...like right now. I'm rarely thirsty. Therefore every bit of food or drink is a conscious effort. I know I'm not getting enough in, it's not because I'm back to work it's just because. I think it's slowing my weight loss and causing me to be extremely fatigued. How am I to get passed this? How do I force myself to eat when I'm just not hungry? When I do eat, a 1/2 egg fills me to the max. Please help!!

Sounds pretty normal to me, for this stage.. As time passes, you will be able to get more in. In fact, it is much better than I was doing at 3 weeks out. Just keep concentrating on getting your fluids in. Each week will be an improvement. Fatigue can be the norm for the first month or two.
I hope you posted this on the VSG board, where there are many people at your stage of the journey.

My plan was different from yours. And I guess looking back it did make it a bit easier.
I was on liquids until 4 weeks post op. Weeks 5 introduced yogurt and cottage cheese. Don't think I was allowed to have eggs until week 6. Chicken wasn't until 2 months and beef and pasta until 6 months.
So at the point you're at I was still focusing on liquids. Water and protein drinks. Ate and drank on a schedule regardless of being hungry. Weeks one and two the priority was on getting the fluids in after that was fluids and protein.

Your first priority right now is to stay hydrated. Keep a sippy cup full of water or tea or Crystal Light, etc., in your hand all the time. Sip sip sip all day long. It doesn't matter if you feel thirsty or not; you must drink. Dehydration can sneak up on you.
Like the above poster, I was still on liquids at your stage and can't imagine eating eggs or quesadilla innards :-) It was all I could do to have some protein shake and some creamed soup. But you make sure you follow your surgeon's guidelines, and you will do just fine. Best wishes!
