All of a sudden my ass disapeared and im starting to get wrinkles on my face!
I was hoping I wouldnt lose my booty, but  I did! its all of a sudden flat now, and I noticed I have more wrinkles on my face, I am 43 years old, and the bad thing is my family is the ones that pointed this out.
My mom had surgery also RNY like 10 years ago and she got a lot of wrinkles and started to look old, but I thought it was cause she had such a hard time she lost all the way down to 98 pounds and couldnt hold nothing down and was in the hosp, I thought all that and getting older, but she said thats what happens when you have wls and you lose weight.
Has anyone experienced this as well?

yep its part of the fat you lose and allows more wrinkles to show, i think for me its the lose skin around the neck that is the worst LOL.

I too lost all my butt but no so worried about that, i can cover that up with clothes... I think we have to remember that even if we gain a few wrinkles along the way we also gain so much more of our lives back and health back.. id not change the wrinkles to go back to what it was like before surgery...

But once you have been at goal awhile the fat does redistribute so some places could fill out a little and other places where you think your holding onto too much fat may lose some..

I ended up with a flat butt, but what has helped to improve it,  has been strength training. Lunges, squats, leg presses, climbing hills, stairs all work the glutes and can help to regain some of the lost muscle. It won't take care of all of the saggy skin, but it really helps, so that pants look and fit better.

Gail

I would rather have the saggy skin, than to have it all filled out with fat.

I just noticed the other day that my ass is gone.  I'm going to increase my squats and lunges to help this a little.  As for the wrinkles, I started noticing a few more and started using Olay reginerist (my spelling sucks).  Anyway, co-workers noticed the difference in my face and neck within a week or two.  I didn't think it would help, but it did.

yeah i have wrinkles now that I no longer have hampster cheeks and my butt is flat too and has double chins. And a few weeks ago I fell on my behind when this chair tipped and without the padding boy did it hurt.

But my butt used to be giant and I don't miss it. As for the wrinkles, I now use retin-A and it does help.   Need a face lift.   Diane

YEAH, My butt is flat as a flitter, but I don't mind so much
now that I wear a size 8 instead of a 20 or 22.
I do need something for the facial wrinkles though.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

Ha, these are funny. But I spent so many years hating my fat butt that I would never get padding for it even it if was caved in!!  I will never pad any part of my body (unless needed for some sport)   Diane

Funny you should bring this up--looked in mirror today and I have new wrinkles ON MY CHEEKS, of all places. I had just gotten used to my wrinkly neck. I am 9 months out, and down 110 pounds, with another 40-50 to go to get to BMI of 20. sheesh! I have been using retin A, glycolic acid, skin bleach, and intense moisturizer now for last 4 months. Helps a smidgeon, but the weight loss is out-pacing the skin repair done by the creams. I will need some fillers done (well, I just plain need plastics to make everything perfect, but who has the money?) Fillers are doable, money-wise. Very important you use a moisturizer cream, get Hyaluronic acid. I read up on skin care and they say this is a must. It's the compound in every skin cell that holds water and is the stuff that is in fillers. Should really make those wrinkles less noticeable. I am SO waiting for the "redistribution" phase--I hope it is not just idle talk. sigh.......
