Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Monday, 10/17
No, I didn't change anything. Just the usual exercise and calories. Actually, my calories and carbs have been climbing a bit. I have been averaging 1400-1500 cal/day. I think the weight training and other exercise is keeping the weight in check. As long as I remain below 110, I am within my comfort zone. The day to day fluctuations are just fluid shifts, and sometimes I can be a bit higher after eating out or exercise. I haven't quite figured that one out. I track my weight daily and weekly and look for trends. If I start getting to 110, then I increase the exercise, which seems to knock it down a pound or pound and a half. I have been maintaining within a two pound range since mid-April.
I am only 4'11" so this is a good weight. My body seems to like the 109's. Tomorrow, it may be up to 109.something.

Ok cool. It is incredible how consistant and predictible our weight can be.
I must say Gail, I so admire your dedication to your exercise and weight training. I would love a Nautalis type gym, I used to love to work out at they gym. With this slim body, I think I would tone VERY quickly...
I am hoping once we move to Tonga and get set up there, that I will be able to set up a home gym. It is one of my dreams and goals...
For now I will just walk and maybe re-encorporate my hand weights and floor exercises at some point.

p.s. Do you realize we are over a foot different in height and you are one of my best buds on here. When I was a kid I was TALL, my best friend and I lived in a small town, and we were allowed to go to town by ourselves to get the mail at the post office, but only if we held hands while crossing the street. One day we had gotten the mail and were standing together holding hands, me tall and blonde, her short and black hair, waiting for the light to change. A lady came up to me and said, your little girl is soooooo cute.

I have made peace with the need for consistent exercise and I can definitely see and feel the results. It is the ONLY way that I will be able to maintain, without drastically reducing my caloric intake. I still have a lot of loose and saggy skin, but I am older. It would be so much worse without the exercise.
You can do body resistance exercises and use hand weights. You don't need the fancy machines. Most of my weight training uses free weights, some machines, and body resistance exercises. I do have a trainer twice/week, so that helps me to get to the gym and has helped me to make considerable progress. I have developed some muscle mass, which helps to burn more calories at rest.
Try planks, resistance ball exercises (the balls are inexpensive and you can do so many things with them, lunges, squats, walking lunges, pushups, etc. Also, plyometrics (check online) burn alot of calories, as well, as help to develop some muscle and tone.
When I was in college, I had a very tall friend, who was about 5'10". When we would walk across campus, I would practically have to jog to keep up with her. I always laugh, when I think about that one. She was such a good friend.
