I made chili for dinner and regret it big time!

OMG, I think this is the first time I've eaten beans since surgery and I will not be eating them again.  Was good because it's getting chilly outside, but immediately got the foamies.  Kept spitting up until I actually threw up a little.  Feeling better, but still burping like crazy.  Totally not worth it!!  At almost 18 months out, I thought I was done with this, but apparently my stomach still has a mind of it's own.

Wow Vera!  I can't believe you got the foamies at 18 months out!  That is insane!!!!  I have only gotten the foamies once when I was 5-6 weeks out!

Sorry you got sick. I confess I have gotten the "slimies" a couple of times after reaching goal because I ate too much or too fast. Dumb of me. I know better. Do you think it was the beans or the amount that you ate? I still make chilli and do fine with it. But sure have to watch portion size.  Diane

I may have eaten too fast because I'm known for that, but the portion size was good.  And I didn't finish what I had.  I'm not sure, but it sucked.

Do you think it was the beans, or the rate of eating or the amount?

I have gotten the foamies more than a  couple of times and for me it's always too much too fast.  Usually it's in a social setting where I'm not paying enough attention to how much I'm eating.  Too busy talking and pretending that I don't have  a sleeve.  Anyway...

I do enjoy beans in my diet and it's a great source of fiber, but high in carbs.  Hope you can work them in slowly.  They are good for us!  Turkey chili is a meal that my family eats about 3X's a month. It's a meal that they love with all the added stuff (corn muffins, sour cream, cheese,)  and I can enjoy too.

HOpe your are not afraid to try it again.

I got the slimies last week after a veeeeeery long time and it had to do with eating too fast because I was starving and wasn't paying attention to what I was eating.

I barfed my dinner last night too. I had picked up trays of Costco's pasta alfredo for a party on Sunday night, and decided to eat a small serving last night for dinner. I ate mostly the chicken off the top, and some pasta, but evidently my tiny tummy didn't like something about it -- because it all came back at me.

I haven't eaten any pasta since before surgery and I only ate a few pieces of the penne last night, but evidently it was too much, too heavy, too something. NO MORE NO MORE.

Every once in a while the tyrant tummy takes over....and I guess it's a good thing....
