I started out at 330 and most of my weight was on my belly! WELL, I had a panniculectomy and he forgot to weight it! The scales went down a few pounds but, nothing serious. I had/a lot of swelling-bloating still. My thighs still seem huge to me, but, in the last few weeks I seem to be shrinking a bit. My pant size stayed the same at 14. Sometimes it's hard to phantom that with it all gone you're the same size! Good luck in your journey!

I need to update pics one of these days!!

Thank you! How long ago did you have your panniculectomy?

I had a panniculectomy several years ago while I was still very overweight - it weighed about 15 pounds. Something to keep in mind is that if you regain afterwards, the weight seems to come back in different places than it did before. When you think about it, it makes sense because those fat cells have been removed - the weight disperses more evenly all over (back, face, legs) whereas before it went to the belly. I would do it again however. Very painful but so worth it anyday.

I have seen people who lost hundreds of pounds get PS and lose a lot of weight from the skin... anywhere from 20-40 pounds. OTOH, there are people who have PS who only lose 3 pounds.

A lot of it depends on how much skin they remove. In my case, I have some small amount of skin to lose in my upper body and a panus and some loose skin in my rear-end. I am guessing I have about 10 pounds of loose skin but it's all over my body. I'm not going to be getting it all chopped off. So I wouldn't be surprised if I only end up with 3-5 pounds of loose skin removed.

But I do expect my pants to fit better! I won't have all that excess around my middle to stuff into them! I care about that more than the number of pounds.

I'm a small person and when I had a PS consult in May, the PS thought that I had about 2 lbs of excess skin. I thought I had more, but he said that I didn't.  I lost a total of 100 lbs.
