I AM WORRIED EVERYONE
How is all the vets restriction??
I have a 32" bougie, and I can already eat more then I used to but I still have good restriction,
im just curious how you vets are doing ??
The key is not to rely on restriction .....
The only way to stretch your sleeve is constant over eating......that produces positive internal pressure.
Eating fixed amounts of food under your sleeves capacity will help greatly in long term restriction/success and maintenance.
I'm thinking I've only over eatin maybe 5 times in 2 years......3 of those were inside of 3 months.
For me...there is no pleasure in feeling full with a sleeve. Pre Op it was a nice feeling to be full and even a little stuffed.

Frisco,
I have a question, How can you tell when you are full and when you have over eaten?
I am having a problem with this, I try my hardest to not over eat, but if I eat till full or satisfied, its like I cant eat another bite, is that over eating?? I know that if I eat till I get foamies I know thats over eating but is it when you eat till your full???

You lost the weight ....... Yah !!!
You did it......you know what's goin on ........
My surgeon would say "Just keep doin what your doing"
My only suggestion would be to eat fixed amounts of food.....an amount you know your not getting into uncomfort and foamies....
I always use the deck of cards visual.....a deck of cards is about 3oz.
The other key for me is to eat slower towards the end of the meal......this helps to not go over the edge and helps in getting true feedback of satisfation from your brain.....
Hope this helps....

Hi Lisa!!!
You may have heard lots of horror stories! But, if you want yours to be a success story. Don't abuse your sleeve by over eating continuously.I have a 42" bougie and I'm at 3 years 4 months out and can do about 3oz of dense protein and little veggies. Or 2ozs and about 1/2c veggies or 1/4c veggies, 1/4c starch. This gives me the full feeling and I don't like it. So, I usually eat a bit less. I know how to leave things on my plate now!
SOOOOOOO, bottom line, it's all up to you!

The only time i have seen anyone say they have lost all restriction with a stand alone sleeve is when its not been done right to begin with..
people have regain but normally its to do with what they are eating.. I regained over 20lbs but it had nothing to do with my sleeve stretching it was eating and drinking the wrong stuff... I have since taken it all off again and have no problems with my restriction...

I went with a friend of mine 2 weeks ago to Mexico. she had her sleeve done by Dr Aceves. 2 days after the her vsg surgery they do a swallow test and can see their new stomach size on an X-ray.
They let me see mine ( I'm 2 and a half years out) and I was surprised to see how much bigger it is now from the begiining stages.
But, if I follow the rules and eat pproten first, I'll have great restriction, But darn those slider foods, they do NOT have ANY restriction!!!!!
I was just really surprised to visually see the difference in size compared to when you first get sleeved.
