It was Thanksgiving in Canada. Well I wasn't very thankful that day!! But, by the end of it I was in a hospital. FINALLY, after moaning and groaning 4 months post op Dr. Goddard ER Doctor) finally gave me the CT scan I needed.. Abscesses formed and leak flowing. They opened and operated 5 different times, but, my sleeve was pissed and was going to heal on its own. I would say around the year mark or so it was healed. At 18 months out, it was confirmed! It was a hard old road. But with all the positive support and family and friends, I made it through.

That is what I am thankful for today. My sister for kicking my ass to the hospital. I thought it was over!! But, the doc gave me hope and the most amazing Nurse I had, Kim...We're still friends today. I had many nurses, but, she stood above all and made sure everything was right!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Yes, three years ago I wasn't sure you were going to make it!  You were the first sleevester I heard of with complications, and your long road of healing seemed ... um, really REALLY long!

You have been an inspiration over the past three years.  And today you can truly be thankful!  Congratulation, Donna!

Wow Donna,  you have stood the test of time.  You are definitely a survivor and a *****y one at that!  I didn't realize how many surgeries it took to get you fixed up.  Thank goodness for all of the support and love in your life.

Biggest standing kudos for not only surviving, but doing it beautifully!

Yes Donna, I do remember it all.  We were scared for you too.  We wouldn't hear from you for a while and then you'd show up again with updates!  My God that seems so long ago.  Thank the good Lord everything worked out honey.

when i came to the boards you were one of the ones i looked up to you always had a upbeat attitude and never had a bad thing to say about anyone..

Im so pleased for you that you came through your ordeal with flying colours.. It must have been so hard on your family to watch you go through so much, and still try and help you and keep you with positive thoughts...

congrats on your three years..

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
