Halloween

What is everyone (those of you who celebrate it) going to be for Halloween?  If you aren't dressing up, tell us some clever costumes you've worn or seen in the past.

We aren't being very creative.  I've wanted for years to be able to buy a costume off the rack, so I'm going as Little Red RIding Hood - vamp style.  I need something long (I'll wear tights underneath) and long sleeved because we'll be outdoors.

I tried to talk my DH into being the big bad wolf, but he doesn't like masks so he decided to go as a monk, which is about as far fetched as you can get for him! lol

I have always dressed up to answer the door to trick or treaters, but have been a witch, because I had a 3x black dress and just added a hat and makeup and black cape.

One year I went as Mimi from the Drew Carey show.  (remember "bite me"?) That was easy too.

We got married on Halloween so thought about going as a bride and groom, but DH nixed that idea too - didn't want to get his suit dirty.  My wedding dress is too big now, so I would have to buy something.  We're going to be in Vegas on Halloween so we're taking our costumes along just in case they have some specials for people who come in costume.

I am going as a zombie mom- kind of 50's old fashioned housewife style, and bought a used doll at Value Village which will be zombie-fied also. Or we may be devil mom and demon child (doll painted red with yellow eyes and little fimo horns!), if I can't make the dead baby thing a bit less icky than it could end up being. Have also been contemplating buying off the rack - like you, just cuz I can!

We get 300+ kids at our door since our neighborhood is safe and well lit and lots of people live on dark roads with no sidewalks. So they come here in droves. We usually have a party and have friends to help pass out candy. Our kitchen table is quite visible from the street so we all wear witch hats and sit around the table in the dark with candles to create a scene.

But this year will be different. Most of our group is taking a trip out of the country so we may be just the two of us or one friend who does a puppet show for kids. And my husband may be very close to his surgery date or just past it. So I will buy skittles and other icky candy that I hate. Last year I was out of town  on Halloween and the year before was just two weeks before my wls so I had my way with a bag of peanut butter cups for the last time.

Anybody else worried about what to do with candy around?  Again, I will get stuff I hate and take all the leftovers to the homeless shelter.

so a witch hat and clown wig are out costumes.     Diane

Sounds like Fun Diane!  I love Halloween.  We got married on Halloween, although choosing that date had nothing to do with Halloween.

It just gives us old farts a chance to act like kids again and just be silly.....and no one questions our sanity that day!

I have a friend who wants to be Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz, and has asked me to be the Wicked Witch of the West. I've always thought Halloween was for the scary stuff, so I'm happy to be the witch. I got a great dress and shoes at the thrift store, borrowed my daughter's cape, bought some striped tights at the Spirit Store, and green make-up. If I can figure out how to make a picture small enough to post on here, I'll do it. I love Halloween.
BOO!

I want to dress up this year but havent decided on a costume. Will probably buy one because I am not creative at all!! In the past I have always been a "fat" witch. My grand daughter asked me the other day if I would dress up with her for trick or treating and I told her I would. She asked what I was going to be and when I told her probably a witch she rolled her eyes and said you are not a "fat" witch anymore. She wants me to be a "sexy" nurse. Hahaha! There is nothing sexy about this body. I dont even have enough boobs for cleavage, lol! Guess I need to make up my mind soon!!

I took this yesterday morning because she finally dropped, Praise Sweet baby Jesus, HALLELUJAH, I can eat again without her feet up against my stomach HA, and now I look like I'm smuggling an over-inflated beach ball! ! !

It'll be a couple of weeks for belly pics for Halloween, but I'm having my maternity shoot on Friday for those "awww so pretty beachy pregnancy photos" so I'll have those to share.
