I am 3 + years out !!!    The farther out you are,  the challenging  the journey !


Can we please try to reach out and give everyone a supportive word  occasionally..

Just trying to keep newbies, inbetweens and vets all feel welcomed and encouraged.

Many Vets do what we can BUT sometimes it's like beating your head up against a wall, because NOW the VSG is so out there, there isn't much education so anyone can get it.  Of course that means those of us who have come farther, really SHOULD but even as even kiel as I am...I wanna b*tch slap some folks.  When I GET to that point...I just step away and reassess ME!!

Is there someone who needs some help?

I think we are all doing the best we can.  Overall this is a very supportive and encouraging group or at least that is my perception.  I find that for me, it has been getting harder to reach out lately and offer support because I do find myself becoming judgmental and downright cranky with the lack of knowledge about the surgery, food plans and other issues.  I try not to respond to those posts that know I should just walk away from.  I am trying to be supportive, really I am.  I am also finding that I need more and more space away from OH for personal sanity.  I am not sure why I am reacting so strongly, maybe it has to do with my own fear of failure or some other deep reason, but I can only say my tolerance for what I consider lack of commitment is sorely lacking lately.  It is not the way I would choose it to be, I would rather have a kind word for everyone, regardless of where they are in the process.  It just is, what it is, for now.  There are so many people out there now making decisions about having this life changing surgery without what I would consider doing their due diligence, and I have talked to so many of them only to have them fade away into what I am afraid is failure, that I have lost some of my patience.  I still answer all PM's or as many posts asking for VET support as I can, but I stay away from anything that I think will get me in trouble.

Agreed, you are 100% correct.  I for one wished I could delete my somewhat negative post as soon as I posted it.  But search as I did, there was no way to delete.  I even tried to edit and it wouldn't even do that.  I will be more mindful from here on out.

 are we talking about the post with the link to the popcorn thread from the VSG forum? I may have lost track of what this is about.   


I think your thread was fine - just a little misunderstanding.

but in the future if anyone wants to delete a thread (I mean, one that you started) you can hit report and ask the OH mods to remove it. I believe they will since you started it.

not sure how long that takes.

This is a good sentiment. Remember we were all newbies once and back then the few vets that there were were very helpful to me. So I do pay it forward when I can. I can only answer a few and often I see that an answer has been given so I don't repeat it but I do respond if I feel I have something useful to relate. Good for you for reminding us all of this. If a post annoys you, just don't answer it.   Diane
